Elvin Brito and Kaleb Harris are set to clash in the main event of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Fight Night Jackson this Saturday night. This event will be held at the Jackson Convention Complex in Jackson, Mississippi, and this bout between Brito and Harris will be for the inaugural BKFC Welterweight Championship. Here’s a look at that fight and the co-main event of Bobo O’Bannon vs Alan Belcher.
Main Event: Elvin Brito (-205) vs Kaleb Harris (+165)
Elvin Brito opened his BKFC career with a 1-2-0 record, defeating Harris Stephenson by knockout in his promotional debut and then losing to Jim Alers and Luis Palomino. But since that loss to Palomino, Brito has compiled a 3-0-0 winning streak in the BKFC with three straight decision wins over Kaleb Harris, Brad Kelly, and Julio Garcia. Brito will try to carry this recent momentum into this BKFC Welterweight Championship fight.
Kaleb Harris has won back-to-back bare knuckle fights over Derrick Findley and Noah Cutter since losing his previous two fights to Brito and Jim Alers. Harris is 4-2-0 over his last four fights with the BKFC with three of those four victories having come by stoppage. This title match was originally scheduled to be against former ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ contestant Julian Lane, but Lane was suspended from the BKFC in December and replaced in this fight by Brito.
The last time these two fighters met, they fought to a very close split-decision win for Brito. Neither man has lost since that fight with two straight wins each. Brito is deservedly the favorite here given his recent form and victory in the last match, but Harris’s edge in power and home crowd advantage as a Mississippi-based fighter makes him worth a shot at these underdog odds with the top sports betting sites.
Kaleb Harris by KO/TKO
Co-Main Event: Bobo O’Bannon (+195) vs Alan Belcher (-245)
Alan Belcher enjoyed a respectable MMA career from 2004 through 2013, compiling an 18-8-0 professional record that included a 9-6-0 record in the UFC. After over eight years from his last professional fight in combat sports, Belcher returned to pick up a decision win over Tony Lopez in his BKFC debut at BKFC 20 last August. Belcher was known for his power during his MMA days as 11 of his 18 career wins came by way of knockout.
Bobo O’Bannon has recorded a 4-2-0 record in four professional bare knuckle boxing matches and enters this bout with a two-fight winning streak. All four of his wins have come by stoppage as he forced Zachary Calmus’s corner to throw in the towel at BKFC 17 and earned a knockout over Lewis Rumsey at BKFC 20.
This fight should be a lot of fun between two heavyweights that won’t be afraid to trade blows in the center of the ring looking for a knockout. Belcher’s pedigree and experience should guide him to the victory in this co-main event.
