Celtics vs CavsGame 6 – Friday, May 25, 8:30 PM EST at Quicken Loans Arena Cleveland, OH

The Celtics lead the series 3-2

At Bovada the Cavaliers are the 7-point home favorite with a total of 201

After losing two games in Cleveland the Celtics were back home in Game 5 and took control of the series with a 96-83 win.

Boston got off to a good start in Gam5 outscoring the Cavs by 13 points. They needed a fast start, especially since they struggled to shoot the rock. They did play good D in the game holding Cleveland to 41.9% shooting and they forced 15 turnovers, but they only shot 36.5% from the floor.

The Celtics have lost seven of eight road games in this post-season.

The home team has won every game in this series and the Celtics are a perfect 10-0 at home in these playoffs. The Cavs will have to snap that streak to make it back to the finals for the 4th straight season, but first they have to take care of business at home in Game 6.

LeBron James had a double-double in Game 5 with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Love had 14 points and while both he and James struggled shooting the three they were a combined 17/35 from the floor, which is not bad. However, they were the only players for Cleveland that scored in double figures and the other three starters of J.R. Smith, George Hill, and Tristan Thompson only combined for 10 points on 2/14 shooting.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics in Game 5 with 26 points and Al Horford had 15 points and 12 rebounds. The defense was key for Boston in Game 5, especially since the backcourt duo of Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown each struggled with their shot. They did combine for 25 points, but were only 7/30 from the floor and they combined to miss 12 of their 15 3-pointers.

The Celtics gave up 111 and 116 points, respectively, in the two losses in Cleveland and in the three wins at home they have held them to an average of 86.7 ppg.

Like Boston did in Game 5 Cleveland has to get off to a good start in Game 6 to get the crowd in the game.

James has to take over the game, especially in the 4th quarter, which he did not do in Game 5 only making one bucket on four shots.
