British bookmaker ‘Fitzdares’ secures gaming license in Ontario

Fitzdares has secured its iGaming operator registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The British bookmaker has completed the main hurdle needed to start operations in the Canadian province of Ontario, the Ontario-regulated online gambling market will launch on April 4.

While acquiring Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registration is a huge step, Fitzdares must still complete the operating agreement with iGaming Ontario and get final approvals.

This will slow Fitzdares arrival in the region. While other brands will go live on launch day, Fitzdares is looking to debut its betting service later this year. Nonetheless, the brand remains steadfast, banking on its “customer-focused experience” to see off the competition.

“We are really happy to be releasing the Fitzdares platform in Ontario in the coming months,” said William Woodhams, Fitzdares CEO.

“Getting our Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) lincence is a big achievement for the business. There will be massive competition in the new Canadian authorised market, but we know our high quality and customer-oriented experience will be an ideal fit.”

Once the bookmaker eventually launches in Ontario, Canada will become the third country where Fitzdares have an operation in the online gaming industry, after the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The brand’s Canadian entry will be joined by the opening of a member, club, the Fitzdares Club, in Toronto next year. It has also broadened its services partnership with technology provider FSB Tech to unite on a “bespoke, indigenous product” for Ontario
