The final game of the NFL’s Week 6 slate projects to be a fun divisional battle between the 3-2 Los Angeles Chargers and the 2-3 Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium. With both of these teams falling well short of preseason expectations so far, this would be a big win for either side. It’s going to be a fun one, and we have some free NFL betting picks for the Monday Night football feature.
In this divisional battle, we are taking the Chargers. While they haven’t met their preseason expectations, this team is very solid and has key playmakers all over the field. Offensively, Justin Herbert is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league and he can move the ball on just about any defense. While it may not be as smooth as normal, we think Herbert and the Chargers can put a score on this stout Denver defense.
The Broncos have struggled offensively with new QB Russell Wilson under center. As a result, they haven’t found the endzone that often and have had to rely on their defense in order to win games. Due to the Chargers’ offensive firepower, that will not work in this game. The Broncos will have to put points on the board, and given their offensive struggles, that won’t happen in this contest. Until Wilson and the Broncos prove they can score with any sense of consistency, we will continue to fade them.
Mike Williams is a beast of a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers and he has established himself as Justin Herbert’s favorite target. While Williams only has two touchdowns on this season, he is consistently peppered with targets around the goal line and is a great bet to score in just about any game. Although the Broncos have a really good cornerback in Patrick Surtain, no one has proven they are able to slow down Williams, whose 6’4″ frame makes him impossible to guard. In this game, we expect the Chargers to put up a lot of points and for Williams to be a big part of that.
While he is extremely talented, this has not been Russell Wilson’s year. He has been playing through a shoulder injury and that has hindered his passing ability. As a result, we expect him to run a little more than usual. While he is not as quick to scramble as he once was, Wilson is still a talented rusher and can create on the ground. He only has one rushing touchdown this season, but at these long odds, this is a good value bet.
