Borussia Dortmund’s recent slide has allowed Bayern Munich to open up a nine-point lead atop the Bundesliga table. Bayern (21-3-4) has found its form on offense with two straight four-goal games in league play, crushing Union Berlin 4-0 at home and SC Freiburg 4-1 on the road. After suffering a 1-0 loss against Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, Bayern Munich’s offense should be hungry to bounce back against Augsburg.

Augsburg (8-8-12) has compiled an impressive 3-0-1 run over its last four games since going 1-4-4 over its previous eight matches. The club hasn’t lost by more than one goal in any of its last eight matches (with a 4-1-3 record over that stretch) and even has an upset over Bayern Munich in a 2-1 win at home back on November 19. These factors have us leaning towards Augsburg as a huge 2.75-goal underdog, even if a Bayern blowout obviously wouldn’t surprise anyone.

VfL Bochum vs Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen (15-6-7) defeated VfL Bochum 2-1 at home on Saturday to improve to 7-1-2 over its last 10 games. Leverkusen enjoyed a dominant stretch on offense in which it averaged 3.8 goals per game across five games played through late January and February, but since then the club has averaged only 1.25 goals per game over its last four matches.

VfL Bochum (10-5-13) is coming off of an upset win on the road against Hoffenheim. Bochum also hasn’t been producing much offense of late, averaging one goal per game over its current 2-1-3 run. Considering the current form of these two offenses and the fact that these two clubs have already played to a low-scoring 1-0 Leverkusen win back in November, we like the UNDER 3 goals in this spot.

RB Leipzig vs Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig (14-6-8) has the longest active unbeaten streak in Bundesliga heading into Matchweek 29. Leipzig has been one of the league’s best teams since January, recording a 8-2-1 record over its last 11 games. That run includes last weekend’s 4-1 road win over Borussia Dortmund.

Hoffenheim (13-5-10) has lost back-to-back games to Hertha BSC and VfL Bochum since going 4-1-0 over its previous five games. This has been a streaky club all season; that five-match unbeaten streak was preceded by an 0-0-3 losing streak and a 5-2-0 hot streak. With a current losing streak taking place and a game against one of Bundesliga’s best teams on tap this weekend, look for Hoffenheim’s struggles to continue this Sunday.
