Union Berlin vs Greuther Furth

Union Berlin (14-8-9) extended its current winning streak to four straight matches with a 2-1 upset win on the road over RB Leipzig last Saturday. This recent surge came out of nowhere as Union had gone just 1-1-5 over its previous seven games prior to this winning streak. Union has outscored its opponents 9-2 across these four wins.

Greuther Furth (3-8-20) scored a goal for the first time in its last five matches on Saturday, but that didn’t mean much in a 4-1 loss at home to Bayer Leverkusen. Furth is now winless in its last nine games with an 0-4-5 record including three 0-0 draws over its last five matches. After suffering an embarrassing 1-0 loss to Greuther Furth when these two clubs last met in December, we like Union Berlin to respond with a convincing win at home this time around.

FC Augsburg vs FC Koln

FC Koln (13-10-8) defeated Arminia Bielefeld 3-1 at home on Saturday to improve to 3-0-0 over its last three games and to 4-1-1 over its last six. Koln’s only loss over this six-game stretch was to red-hot Union Berlin back on April 1. After just barely avoiding relegation with a 16th place finish last season, Koln has bounced back with a very impressive campaign in 2021-22, entering Matchweek 32 in seventh place on the Bundesliga table.

FC Augsburg (9-8-14) snapped a two-match losing streak with a 2-0 win on the road over VfL Bochum last Sunday. Augsburg has allowed one goal or fewer in each of its last five games and is 3-0-2 over that stretch. This should be a competitive game that could go either way, but Koln’s recent form makes it tough to pass up on the road club getting a healthy payout of +150 on the three-way line.

Mainz 05 vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich (24-3-4) locked up its 10th straight Bundesliga title in style last Saturday, rolling to a 3-1 win at home over second place Borussia Dortmund to extend its current unbeaten streak to nine games (7-2-0) and its current winning streak to five games. Mainz 05 (11-6-14) meanwhile was on the wrong end of a 5-0 blowout loss to VfL Wolfsburg last Friday and is now winless in its last five matches with an 0-2-3 record.

This is obviously the type of match that Bayern Munich could win by multiple goals easily with its best effort. But should we really expect to see the club’s best effort with Bundesliga already clinched? Prior to the blowout loss to Wolfsburg, Mainz 05 hadn’t lost by more than one goal in any of its last six matches. With Mainz likely to product its best effort at home and Bayern likely taking it a bit easy on the road, we’ll take the home underdog on the two-way line in this spot.
