Having won their past seven matches against Bremen, Leipzig should be too strong despite playing away from home.

Borussia Dortmund vs FSV Mainz

With just one win from their past seven Bundesliga matches, Borussia Dortmund have plummeted out of the top four. This weekend they face the 17th-placed FSV Mainz for the first time since the Rhineland outfit famously stopped Dortmund from winning the Bundesliga last season. Look out for the dangerous Niclas Fullkrug, who leads the way for Dortmund in attack.

TSG Hoffenheim vs SV Darmstadt

Tuesday, December 19 – 8:30pm CET – PreZero Arena

Sitting just one point out of the top six, TSG Hoffenheim have the perfect opportunity to return to form as they welcome the bottom side. SV Darmstadt not only have the worst record in the league, they also have conceded the most goals. Although Hoffenheim should be too strong, they have also been prone to mistakes in defence this season, so this match may be closer than expected.

Union Berlin vs FC Koln

Wednesday, December 20 – 6:30pm CET – Stadion An der Alten Forsterei

Two sides in the midst of a relegation battle face off on Wednesday night as the low-scoring FC Koln take on the leaky defence of Union Berlin. Both stuck on 10 points from 15 matches, this will have major implications towards the back end of the season. Despite their poor season so far, Union Berlin haven’t lost to Koln since 2014 and should be too strong at home.

Bayer Leverkusen vs VfL Bochum

Sitting four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, the undefeated Bayer Leverkusen are locked in a title race. This week they welcome the dangerous VfL Bochum — who, despite their poor league position, have lost just one of their past seven matches. In a match where Leverkusen should have the majority of the chances, watch out for Alex Grimaldo along the left-hand side.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Following their 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, Eintracht Frankfurt will be keen to respond as they welcome fellow mid-table side Borussia Monchengladbach. Having a disappointing season, Monchengladbach have shown glimpses of quality but have been limited by their defensive struggles. As they chase a top-six position, Frankfurt should be too strong at home.

FC Heidenheim vs SC Freiburg

Coming off two wins in a row, FC Heidenheim have completely turned their season around and now find themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone. However, this week they face the in-form SC Freiburg, who have won their last three matches. Hoping to finish in a European position, this is a match that Freiburg should win.

VfB Stuttgart vs FC Augsburg

VfB Stuttgart were dealt a reality check last week as they were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich. This weekend they face the 10th-placed FC Augsburg, who were particularly impressive in their 1-1 draw with Dortmund last weekend. After a poor showing last weekend, watch out for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy as the danger-man up front.

VfL Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich

Looking to chase down Bayer Leverkusen in search of a 12th successive Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich returned to winning ways last weekend with a comfortable 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart. Heading to Wolfsburg this weekend, Bayern should have too much quality across the park. In-form Bayern winger Leroy Sane is sure to be amongst the action.
