The Carolina Panthers are coming off a solid win as they head north to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers, who are looking to bounce back from their worst loss of the 2019 NFL season.

The big news for the Panthers is that this is Kyle Allen’s team for the rest of the season, as they recently put Cam Newton on IR. Carolina have won five of six games with Allen at the helm and sit in second place in the NFC South behind the 7-1 New Orleans Saints, who they still have to play twice.

The Packers are coming off a bad 26-11 road loss to the LA Chargers, which snapped their four-game win streak. Even so, Green Bay are one game up on the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.

The Panthers beat the Tennessee Titans 30-20 last time out where they led 17-0 at the half and outgained the Titans 431 yards to 370. The big gun in that game was Christian McCaffery, who rushed for 146 yards at 6.1 yards per carry with two touchdowns and also had three catches for 20 yards and a score. He ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards and has rushed for at least 117 yards in three of his last four games.

Allen has been solid since taking over for Newton, racking up 1,291 pass yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions. He passed for 232 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the win over Tennessee, which was a positive response to the three picks he gave up in a bad loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

While Green Bay earned rave reviews for their defense in the first few games, that unit has not been great in the last few. They now rank 21st in the NFL against the run and 24th against the pass.

The Packers are hoping to get over a bad loss to the Chargers where they were outgained 442 yards to 184 and only rushed for 45 yards. Aaron Jones led Green Bay with only 30 rushing yards and Jamaal Williams only had 10 rushing yards on two carries.

Aaron Rodgers passed for 161 yards with a score and a pick in the loss to LA, while Davante Adams had seven catches for 41 yards in his first game back. Rodgers had passed for at least 305 yards in his previous two games for eight touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Packers offensive line was manhandled in the loss to the Chargers, with constant pressure on Rodgers leading to three sacks. That unit has to step up in this game facing a Carolina pass rush that leads the NFL in sacks.

While the Panthers rank a solid ninth in the NFL in pass defense, they only rank 26th in run defense.
