Champions League 2022/23 futures odds & best value bets

UEFA Champions League odds

Now that each club’s domestic season has kicked off, it’s time to get excited about Champions League soccer. While there are still three weeks left in the summer transfer window, most of the big deals have finished and we have a good grasp of the elite teams in Europe. Like so many years before, this Champions League projects to be wide open and there are a good amount of teams that have a legitimate shot at winning it all.

Off the bat, Manchester City at +275 is bad value. While they have a very good squad, betting on such a clear favorite right now doesn’t make sense. They will falter throughout the tournament and there should be better betting windows. Also, Man City have struggled in this tournament in recent seasons and they seem to always choke on the biggest stage. Sure, they are stacked and project to be a great team, but at +275, it’s best to stay away.

The next two favorites are Liverpool and PSG at +500 and +550 respectively. Both are going to be good teams but, once again, their odds are far too low. Liverpool and PSG are firmly in the elite tier of European clubs, but considering the twists and turns this tournament features, we don’t recommend betting on them. There is no value in the favorites at this point in time.

The first team in the market that does present value is last year’s winner, Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are once again set up to dominate, and at +1200 with Bovada, they are very enticing. Real won on the back of their young talent and an elite Karim Benzema last season. This time, there is no reason to think they will regress – and, in fact, they could even be better. They have brought in defensive reinforcements during the summer, thus shoring up their only weak spot. At +1200, the defending champs present a lot of value.

The last team that also is worth a bet is Juventus at +2800. Juve are not quite the powerhouse they once were, but they are drastically undervalued. Last year, they dealt with a ton of injuries, and by virtue of those players coming back, they should improve. Also, they have brought in Paul Pogba and he can raise the profile of this team. Juve may not win the tournament, but their odds should only get shorter from this point and there will be plenty of hedging opportunities as the tournament progresses. Do not sleep on Juventus, as they will be looking to re-enter the conversation regarding the best teams in Europe.
