It will be the reigning AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals hosting the undefeated Miami Dolphins and it projects to be a high-scoring affair. Both of these teams are trending in the opposite direction and Miami currently have all the momentum. They have stunned NFL fans on their way to a 3-0 start and announced their arrival with a win over the Buffalo Bills in Week Three. The Bengals, on the other hand, have limped their way to a 1-2 start and were able to get their first win of the season last weekend. It’s going to be a great game and we have some picks below.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Miami Dolphins betting preview

For this game, we are going to fade the public sentiment. The Bengals have struggled their way to a 1-2 record and they look nothing like the team that lost in the Super Bowl last season. While they have been slow out of the gate, there is still a ton of talent on this roster and they are likely a better team than they have shown. The issue with the Bengals has been their offensive line and that bears its ugly head in every game. However, in this matchup with the Dolphins, it may not be as big an issue as normal. The strength of the Dolphins’ defense lies in their secondary and not their defensive line. We expect the Bengals receivers to beat the Dolphins’ corner and cover the spread in the process.

Fading Miami is a risky proposition. They have consecutive wins against the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills. In turn, the Dolphins have been getting praise as the best team in the NFL. While that is lofty, Miami is definitely a strong team and their new coach, Mike McDaniel, is endearing himself to NFL fans across the country. Still, though, this is the Dolphins led by Tua Tagovailoa. Tua is a talented but unimpressive QB and he should be a little banged up in this contest. While he will likely play, he may not be at his best and considering the short week of rest that comes with playing on Thursday, we are going to side with the Bengals.

Tee Higgins is the second best wide receiver for the Bengals but is still a top 20 receiver across the NFL. He is an elite talent and his ability, combined with the attention Bengals receiver one Ja’Marr Chase gets, allows Higgins to have some crazy games. In this game, the Dolphins will probably shadow Ja’Marr Chase with their elite corner back, Xavien Howard. In turn, Higgins should get less attention and feast on this Dolphins defense. He and Chase are truly interchangeable and either of them can have a big game any given week. Also, Higgins would have covered this bet in each game he didn’t leave early with an injury this season so he definitely has a good track record. Take the Higgins over for receiving yards and watch one of the best receiver duos go off at home.

Raheem Mostert is one of the running backs for the Miami Dolphins. It’s unclear who the starting running back is for Miami as Mostert and Chase Edmonds have alternated touches throughout the season. Last weekend, it was Edmonds who scored two touchdowns and his odds to score in this contest are at +170 with Bovada. Considering the randomness of this backfield, Edmonds’ and Mostert’s odds should be the same. With Mostert’s anytime TD odds at +310, he is a great bet as he has a strong chance of scoring in this contest. He and Edmonds will likely trade touches here, and the value is on Mostert’s longer odds.
