The San Francisco 49ers will look to maintain their perfect record on Monday night when they host the Cleveland Browns in Week 5 of the 2019 NFL season.
The Browns are coming off an impressive 40-25 win over the Baltimore Ravens, which pulled them even with Baltimore for the lead in the AFC North. Baker Mayfield quieted the critics with a great game and now the Browns head west to take on the undefeated 49ers.
The 49ers are rested for this game coming off a bye week and they are one of only three teams that remain unbeaten. They rank second in the league in rushing yards per game and third in ppg, but they have not played a tough schedule.
In the Browns 40-25 win over the Ravens they outgained them 530 yards to 395 yards and they rushed for 193 yards. Mayfield was 20/30 for 342 yards with a touchdown and an interception Jarvis Landry had a big game with 167 receiving yards. Odell Beckham only had two catches for 20 yards, but defenses are keying on him, which opens up the other receivers.
Nick Chubb was huge in the win over the Ravens rushing for a season high 165 yards with three touchdowns including an 88-yard scoring run. He ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards and in his last two games has 257 rushing yards.

While the 49ers have faced two weak offensive teams in their last couple of games their defense has been solid and balanced on the season ranking sixth in the league in pass defense and fifth in run defense.
The 49ers are coming off a bye week and in their last game they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers despite turning the ball over five times. They had nearly 200 more yards than the Steelers (436 to 239) and the turnovers nearly cost them the game.
Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 277 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers game but had two interceptions and also lost a fumble. San Francisco does not have a big time wide receiving corps but solid young players and one of the best tight ends in the league in George Kittle.
The 49ers rushed for 168 yards in the win over Pittsburgh with Raheem Mostert and Matt Breida combining for 147 rushing yards. Each have over 200 rushing yards on the season and each is averaging at least 5.5 yards per carry.
The Browns have a solid pass defense ranking seventh in the league but only rank 21st in run defense and that is a big concern in this game facing the 49ers. Even in beating the Ravens in their last game Cleveland gave up 173 rushing yards. Myles Garrett ranks second in the league with six sacks and the San Francisco offensive line has a tall task keeping him out of the backfield.
These teams have not met since the 2015 season.

The 49ers are coming off a bye while the Browns are coming off their best game of the season. The last two teams the 49ers have faced in the Bengals and Steelers have two of the worst rushing offenses in the league and they will get a heavy dose of Chubb in this game. Mayfield will also play well the Browns will, at least, cover the spread in a close Monday night affair.
