NFL Divisional Round
Betting Line: Rams -7
Over/Under: 49 at Nags.bet
The Dallas Cowboys have had quite a few years of disappointment in the NFL Playoffs, but they came through in the Wild Card game last weekend with a 24-22 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Ezekiel Elliot, who won the rushing title this season, came up big and his play will be key in this game where America’s Team is a seven-point road underdog. Dallas has a defense that ranks seventh in the league and that will be up against Jared Goff and a dynamic LA Rams offense that stands second in the league.
The Rams won their last two games of the season after losing two straight. In the two losses Goff struggled, but he was solid in the last two games. Todd Gurley needs to get back on track after missing the season finale with a knee injury. LA have an offense that can put up points, but their defense gave up at least 30 points in two of their last three games.

This season the Cowboys are 9-8 ATS and have an Over/Under record of 8-9, while the Rams are at 7-8-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 8-8. These two met in Dallas last season where the Rams won 35-30.
In the Cowboys’ home win over the Seahawks last week they had more overall yards (380-299) and the run game was key, as their defense held Seattle to only 73 rushing yards while they galloped for 164 yards on the ground.
Elliot had a solid game, rushing for 137 yards and also gaining 32 receiving yards. Dak Prescott had 226 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception and Amari Cooper led Dallas with 106 receiving yards.

LA have the league’s 14th-ranked run defense and 23rd-ranked pass defense. In their last game of the regular season they gave up 127 rushing yards.
The Rams were at home in their season finale and they beat the San Francisco 49ers 48-32. Turnovers were key in the game, as LA had fewer yards (391-377) yet forced four turnovers and did not commit one. They led at the half 31-10 and will look to get off to another fast start in this game.

Goff and Gurley were in the MVP race until late in the season, when where the former has some turnover issues and the latter was banged up. Goff did not have any turnovers in the win over the 49ers and while only passing for 199 yards he had four touchdowns. Gurley is not 100% dealing with his knee injury and has failed to rush for over 55 yards in three of his last four games, including his last two.
The Cowboys are led by a run defense that ranks fifth in the league and their pass defense is also pretty good ranking 13th. They only sacked Russell Wilson once in the win over the Seahawks last week and they have to pressure Goff in the pocket in this game.
This season the Rams are 7-1 at home and the Cowboys are 3-5 on the road.

The Cowboys broke through with a playoff win last week, but can they get the win in La La Land even though they were two games under .500 on the road? It seems unlikely. However, Elliot will have a solid game and the Dallas defense will give Goff and the Rams a run for their money. LA will get the win in what will be a close game, but the Cowboys will cover the spread.
