Chris Daukaus and Derrick Lewis enter their main event matchup at UFC Fight Night 199 with 31 career knockouts between them. These two heavyweights collide in what should be a thrilling showdown this Saturday night in Las Vegas to bring the 2021 UFC season to a close.

Chris Daukaus vs Derrick Lewis fight analysis

Chris Daukaus (12-3-0) is off to a sensational start in the UFC with a perfect 4-0-0 record that includes four straight knockouts and three straight Performance of the Night bonuses. Daukaus is 10-1-0 over his last 11 professional fights and each of his last nine wins have all come by way of knockout in the first or second round. The 32-year-old has climbed to No. 7 in the UFC heavyweight rankings and could potentially move into the top five with a convincing victory over Derrick Lewis.

Derrick Lewis (25-8-0) had a four-fight winning streak snapped in a fight for the interim UFC Heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane. Lewis had won each of his previous two fights by knockout including an upset win over Curtis Blaydes that earned him performance of the night honors. Each of his last two wins have come by knockout; he holds the record for the most knockouts in UFC heavyweight division history with 12 and is tied with Vitor Belfort and Matt Brown for the most knockouts ever with the promotion across all weight classes.

Daukaus vs Lewis UFC predictions & best bets

We all know how this one is going to end. Derrick Lewis has 20 career knockouts and has suffered five knockout losses in his career, while two of Chris Daukaus’s three career losses have come by knockout. Considering how hard these two hit and that neither is built to go five rounds, it’s safe to assume this one won’t be going to the scorecards. This fight is a -400 favorite not to go the distance and a -150 favorite to last UNDER 2.5 rounds.

Daukaus loves to throw punches with a whopping 9.03 significant strikes per minute and Lewis is at his best on the counter attack. This one is going to be a lot of fun for fight fans. This betting line should probably be a bit closer to a pick’em given Lewis’s track record and experience at the highest level of the division; we’ll roll with the underdogs in a fight that could easily go either way and will likely simply come down to one big strike.
