Novak Djokovic lasted just one set in his semi-final clash with Alexander Zverev on Friday at Melbourne Park.
Novak Djokovic pulled out of the 2025 Australian Open just one set into his semi-final against Alexander Zverev on Friday, gifting the German a place in Sunday’s title decider.
After losing the first set in a tiebreaker, the Serbian superstar immediately walked to the net to shake Zverev’s hand — without consulting a physiotherapist or receiving any medical treatment.
Djokovic had battled fatigue and soreness in previous rounds, and he appeared to be struggling as the tiebreaker wore on.

The 10-time champion’s sudden exit means Zverev will face the winner of Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton, who are set to clash at Rod Laver Arena later on Friday.
Sinner is a red-hot favourite at -2000 with top tennis bookmakers, with Shelton paying big odds of +1000 to spring an upset.
The Italian is slated at -303.03 in Australian Open title betting at Nags.bet, with Zverev at +225 and Shelton at +4000.
