Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Manchester City (16-2-2) improved to a perfect 10-0-0 over its last 10 games with its 1-0 win on the road against Brentford on Wednesday night. Critics have complained that this year’s City club isn’t as deep as past versions, but that hasn’t prevented Manchester City from racking up wins and opening up an eight-point lead over the rest of the pack atop the table. City enters Matchweek 21 with the most goals scored (51) and the fewest goals conceded (12) in the EPL.

Arsenal (11-6-2) meanwhile has climbed into the top four on the EPL table with a four-game winning streak. The club beat Norwich City 5-0 on the road last Sunday and has outscored its opponents 14-1 over this current 4-0-0 stretch. It’s tempting to take a shot on Arsenal as home underdogs given the team’s current form and Manchester City’s potential fatigue after having played midweek. But City is 11-0-1 in its last 12 games against Arsenal including a 5-0 win earlier this season; this doesn’t feel like the game that their win streak comes to an end in.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool

What was looking like a three-horse race among Manchester City, Liverpool (12-5-2) and Chelsea (12-6-2) has been opened up by City as Chelsea has gone 1-3-0 over its last four games to leave six potential points unclaimed and Liverpool has gone 0-1-1 over its last two games to earn only one of a possible six points. Liverpool had won six straight matches before playing to a 2-2 draw on the road against Tottenham Hotspur and a 1-0 loss on the road to Leicester City.

We are leaning towards the UNDER 2.5 goals in this one. Liverpool’s usually high-powered offense has been held to just 1.4 goals per game over the club’s last five matches. Chelsea meanwhile has played to two 1-1 draws and a 0-0 draw in its last four games. Each of the last three matches between these two squads have produced two goals or less. In a match that could easily go either way or end in a draw, expect to see plenty of 1-0, 2-0, and 1-1 finals that go UNDER the posted total.

Manchester United vs. Wolves

Manchester United (8-4-5) settled for a disappointing 1-1 draw in its last match against Newcastle United on Monday. United has not been defeated in its last five games with a 3-2-0 record since going 1-1-5 over its previous seven matches. Prior to the draw against Newcastle, Manchester United had won each of its previous two games 1-0. The club will take on Burnley on Thursday.

Wolves (7-4-7) has become an automatic bet on the UNDER for us week in and week out. It isn’t a fun or exciting play, but it produces results. A total of one goal or less has been scored in each of Wolves’ last seven games. And considering Manchester United’s recent streak towards low-scoring games, why deviate from the formula this Monday?
