This is a crazy week of soccer. Beyond the season winding to a close, we have the crown jewel of soccer games this weekend, Liverpool against Man City. That game between the two best Prem teams will steal the headlines, but with every team scheduled to play, there will certainly be a lot of interesting games. The title race is coming down to it; the fourth Champions League spot is up for grabs and this weekend will give us a clearer picture. It’s going to be a great weekend of soccer; here are the three best picks of the bunch.

Manchester United at Everton FC

This is sneakily a great game and one could argue that both teams need a win. Manchester United are in seventh place with 51 points through 30 games and fighting for a Champions League spot. If they don’t finish in a better position than where they are, massive changes will be made to United. They came into this season with legitimate title aspirations and have fallen flat on those expectations. They could still rescue their season with a couple wins and a top four finish, but time is ticking. Expect them to come out with a lot of heart in this massive game.

Everton also need a win. They are also failing to meet expectations and sit in 17th place with 25 points through 29 matches. That’s only one point above the relegation line and while Everton didn’t have title aspirations like United, a relegation season would be very embarrassing. They have been a fixture in the Premier League in recent history and a relegation finish would open up a new, ugly chapter in this club’s history. They would likely not be able to retain a lot of their stars if they get sent down and it would be very hard for them to get back to the Prem. Unfortunately for them, United should beat them down and break through a faulty Everton defense. Take United moneyline and watch them roll through a lifeless Everton team.

Brighton & Hove Albion at Arsenal FC

Brighton is in shambles right now. They have one single point through their last seven games and after a strong start, they have completely fallen out of the picture. Now, they have 34 points through 30 games and sit in 13th place. While they likely won’t get relegated, this is still a disappointing dropoff after a strong start had them thinking about a top eight finish. They don’t have a ton to play for and it will be hard for them to get properly motivated for this game. Also, Brighton haven’t performed well away from home and will have a tough time in the Emirates.

Arsenal are a tough team to nail down. After playing great soccer and looking primed for a top four finish, Arsenal tends to lose a game they shouldn’t. That’s what happened last week as they lost 3-0 to an inferior Crystal Palace squad. That being said, Arsenal should bounce back this week. They are still firmly in the Champions League race with 54 points through 29 games. If they win, they will be back in fourth and that fact, combined with them playing at home, should be enough for Arsenal to win and cover this game.

Liverpool FC at Manchester City

This is going to be the best EPL game of the weekend and perhaps the season. It has all the storylines and the winner will have the jump on winning the title. City are in first with 73 points in 30 games. Liverpool is right behind them with 72 points through 30 games. It’s electric. There is not a lot to differentiate and while City is a sizable favorite due to them being at home, the draw has all the value. Both these teams match up very well. Liverpool leads the league in goals for and City has conceded the least amount of goals. It’s going to be intense and while it may feel lame to bet a draw, but that is the right pick.

Both of these teams played in the Champions League on Tuesday and while that may not appear to be a factor in this Sunday’s game, it will provide a little bit of fatigue. This game may not be as open as fans would want because both teams will be terrified of making that hypothetical fatal mistake. Due to this fact, there is tremendous value on the draw. Hopefully it’s an entertaining, high scoring draw but we’ve seen games like this disappoint in the past. Take the tie and watch the dramatics unfold between two of the world’s best clubs.
