Leg 1 – Manchester City vs Aston Villa

Saturday, October 26 – 12:30pm BST – Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will be looking to collect another win when they take on newcomers Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The champions had an imperious outing in the UEFA Champions League, where they trounced Serie A side Atalanta 5-1 to further impose themselves in Group C of the competition.

Aston Villa head to the North West on the back of their second win in as many weeks, following their 2-1 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Although Villa have done well on their return to the Premier League, as they sit 12th in the table, there isn’t a lot they can do to stop second placed Manchester City.

Leg 2 – Burnley vs Chelsea

Saturday, October 26 – 5:30pm BST – Turf Moor, Burnley

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have hit a purple patch since losing to Liverpool towards the tail end of September, winning their next six matches in all competitions.

Their exploits on the domestic front have seen them climb to fourth on the ladder behind Leicester City, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Burnley have been able to maintain their place in the top half of the table despite sustaining a 2-1 defeat against Leicester in their last Premier League outing.

Although Chelsea’s midweek trip to Amsterdam may take a toll on them on Saturday, the Blues should be able reap maximum points from their trip to Turf Moor.

Leg 3 – Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Sunday, October 27 – 4:30pm GMT – Emirates Stadium, London

Inter-city rivalry will be at play when Unai Emery’s Arsenal play host to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon in the EPL.

After a shocking 1-0 defeat away to Sheffield United last weekend, Arsenal managed to return to winning ways on Thursday night following a hard-fought 3-2 win over Portuguese side Vitória S.C. in the Europa League.

The Gunners sit fifth on the EPL standings after nine league matches, just a place above a Crystal Palace side that spiralled down to sixth last weekend after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Given the fickle nature of Arsenal’s performances, the pendulum could swing in any way in this local derby.

Leg 4 – Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday, October 27 – 4:30pm GMT – Anfield, Liverpool

Last weekend saw Liverpool drop points for the very first time this season as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Manchester United.

Although that outcome brought their impressive run of eight straight wins in the Premier League to an end, it didn’t in any way lower their tempo, as the European champions breezed past Belgian side Genk with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday night.

Spurs too overcame their abysmal 1-1 draw with Watford to thrash Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade 5-0 in their midweek Champions League outing.

Both sides are certainly fired up with their European results, but Jurgen Klopp’s Reds look the more rounded side and should win at home.

Leg 5 – Norwich City vs Manchester United

Sunday, October 27 – 4:30pm GMT – Carrow Road, Norwich

With a paltry two wins in their first nine games of the campaign, 14th-placed Manchester United will be desperate to take their chances against Norwich City this weekend.

They may have earned a deserved draw against Liverpool, a result which they built on to beat Serbian side Partizan 1-0 on Thursday night, but all that will count for nothing if they don’t overcome the Canaries.

Norwich may be second from bottom following a string of poor results, but the Canaries are no whipping boys.

They beat Man City, gave Chelsea a scare and scored at Anfield, so they are well capable of shaking up a struggling United side.
