EPL Matchweek 13 betting preview & top picks | Sunday, 10/23

The English Premier League carries on this Sunday with an interesting slate of five games. While some big clubs are playing Saturday, this Sunday will still feature the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham. We have picks and goal scorer bets for those games and more.

Aston Villa vs Brentford

Aston Villa is a mess right now and have just fired their coach, the legendary Steven Gerrard. They are in a state of disarray and even though they will have the home field advantage, they just cannot be trusted. On the other hand, Brentford have been playing very well and have collected four points through their last two games. These teams match up very evenly on paper but this game should come down to form and Villa have been awful in recent performances. This should be a tight contest, but we like Brentford to keep it close and cash this bet.

Leeds United vs Fulham

In this contest between two middling teams, we are taking the home club, Leeds United. They have really struggled in recent contests but over the course of the year, Leeds have been solid at Elland Road. They have one loss through five games there and we expect it to stay that way. While Fulham have overachieved to this point, they struggle on the road and this is a bad matchup for them. Take the home team and watch them win what could sneakily be a very fun game.

Arsenal vs Southampton

Bukayo Saka has been a revelation for Arsenal this season and he is a key component to their top of the table start. He has scored three times in his past two games and has been the best player on the field for large chunks of those games. Against a porous Southampton defense, Saka and the Gunners should create plenty of opportunities and considering Saka’s form, he’s bound to put one of them in the back of the net. The 21-year-old winger should once again stand out in this contest and his odds to score a goal are way too long considering his form.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United

This is the marquee game of the Sunday slate. Third place Tottenham will host sixth place Newcastle in what promises to be a fun contest. Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from a brutal midweek loss to Manchester United and at home, we expect that to happen. Newcastle are very solid in all aspects but Tottenham simply have more star power than them. In games like these, the star players need to make an impact and at home off a loss, guys like Harry Kane and Heung Min Son should shine. It could go either way but at +115, Tottenham is a little undervalued as they are simply the better team at this point in the season.
