Leg 1 – Everton vs Arsenal

Saturday, December 21 – 12:30pm GMT – Goodison Park, Liverpool

Two caretaker managers in Duncan Ferguson and Freddie Ljungberg will have a huge chance to impress their bosses when Everton play host to Arsenal this weekend.

Of the two interim managers, Ferguson seems to have come out on top so far, guiding the Toffees to four massive points against Chelsea and Manchester United in his first two games in charge.

Arsenal’s decision to sack Unai Emery is proving problematic, as the hierarchy is still struggling to find a permanent replacement for the Spanish manager.

Given their impressive outcomes over the last two weeks, Everton have a very good chance of beating an Arsenal side with just one win in nine Premier League games.

Prediction: Everton to win – +130 at BetOnline

Leg 2 – Norwich City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Saturday, December 21 – 3pm GMT – Carrow Road, Norwich

Wolves will continue their quest for a second successive season of European football when they face Norwich City this weekend.

Featuring in the Europa League this term is, however, taking a toll on Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, as witnessed last weekend when Wolves conceded a last-gasp winner to Tottenham.

Despite being second from bottom, Norwich proved that they are not quite beaten yet in the race for survival as they brought Leicester City’s eight-match winning run to an end last weekend.

That result will have given the Canaries a significant morale boost heading into Saturday’s encounter.

Prediction: Both teams to score – -151.52 at BetOnline

Leg 3 – Manchester City vs Leicester City

Saturday, December 21 – 5:30pm GMT – Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Third-placed Manchester City will play host to second-placed Leicester City this weekend in one of the most crucial encounters of the season.

Leicester City will be hoping to return to winning ways after their eight-game streak came to an end with their 1-1 draw against Norwich last time out.

Man City have fallen well off the pace in the title race, but they found some touch with a comprehensive 3-0 win over a hapless Arsenal side last weekend.

With both sides having a great chance to trim the gap to leaders Liverpool, who will be playing in the FIFA Club World Cup this weekend, this will be an explosive encounter with goals at both ends.

Prediction: Both teams to score – -163.93 at BetOnline

Leg 4 – Watford vs Manchester United

Sunday, December 22 – 2pm GMT – Vicarage Road, Watford

Plenty will be at stake for Manchester United as they play away to Watford this weekend.

The Red Devils squandered a good chance to edge closer to the top four last Sunday when they drew with Everton in a weekend where top six rivals like Chelsea and Leicester also dropped points.

Things are going from bad to worse for Watford. With only one win this season, the Hornets are mired to the foot of the EPL table and lie six points away from the safety zone.

While United have had their issues this season, not least against the weaker teams, they should take this opportunity to close the gap on the top four.

Prediction: Manchester United to win – -128.21 at BetOnline

Leg 5 – Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Sunday, December 22 – 4:30pm GMT – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Jose Mourinho will go against his former side this weekend when Tottenham Hotspur lock horns with Chelsea in a top four tussle.

Frank Lampard’s men head into the match on the back of a shattering 1-0 loss to Bournemouth. After a strong spell through October and early November, the Blues have registered just one win in their last five league games.

Spurs, on the other hand, have won four of their last five EPL matches. That run has them fifth on the table, three points behind Chelsea in fourth.

With a place in the top four up for grabs, both sides should have a proper go at each other in this must-watch London derby.

Prediction: Both teams to score – -200 at BetOnline
