EPL Matchweek 23 best bets & goalscorer picks – February 10-12

Premier League MW23

The Premier League returns after a tumultuous week where it was revealed Manchester City broke UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules from 2009-2018. Now, with City’s future unclear, Arsenal’s bid for their first title since 2003 could become that much easier. There is still a lot of season left, however, and every club will be in action in Matchweek 23. It should be a great slate of games and we have some free EPL betting picks to enhance the viewing experience.

West Ham United vs Chelsea

This Friday contest will feature two underachieving teams. West Ham, a perennial Europa League contender, currently sit in 16th place and simply cannot string together multiple good performances. Their opponent for this fixture, Chelsea, had title aspirations coming into the season and they now sit in ninth place. Neither team gives bettors a lot of confidence but we are going to take Chelsea. They spent $400 million on a plethora of talented players to improve their poor form. Maybe we are suckers, but that has to amount to something and they should shine in a very winnable away game. West Ham have been abysmal at home in recent matches and have garnered one win in their last four games at London Stadium. Take Chelsea to win and breathe some life into their 2023 campaign.

Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

While Tottenham have been inconsistent this season, their main man Harry Kane has played phenomenally. Kane has 17 goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season and recently, he has scored seven goals in nine games. Against Leicester, he is primed to score again. The Foxes have one of the worst defenses in the league and they have conceded multiple goals in three straight Premier League matches. While Leicester will be at home, their defensive woes will hold them back and Tottenham’s star should continue to shine by adding another goal to his impressive tally.

Arsenal vs Brentford

This is going to be an awesome game. Arsenal, as everyone knows, are on the top of the table and they are playing an inspired brand of soccer. Brentford, like Arsenal, are overachieving on their preseason expectations and they have been one of the biggest surprises of the season. While Arsenal should win this game, Brentford can’t be ruled out due to their attacking prowess. That being said, Brentford’s defense is not very staunch and Arsenal should be on the front foot for most of this game. And that means Bukayo Saka will be active. The young winger has been a revelation this season and he has seven goals this season. Recently, though, he has scored three goals in six matches and he is taking up more of a goalscoring role with the injury to striker Gabriel Jesus. Against Brentford, Saka should be set up with great chances, and given his form, we like his odds to score.

Leeds United vs Manchester United

Manchester United have been unbelievable in recent games and have risen up the table into third place. While a title run may be lofty, they look like one of the best teams in the EPL and a big reason for that is Marcus Rashford. Rashford is in a great run of form and recently, he has scored six goals in seven games. Rashford has quickly become United’s main man moving forward and their gameplan is centered around feeding him in dangerous areas. Against Leeds, that should happen a lot. Leeds have conceded 34 goals in 20 games and they simply don’t have the defense necessary to slow down Rashford. Take the Englishman to score again and watch him lead the Red Devils to victory.

Liverpool vs Everton

The Merseyside Derby is one of the biggest games on the fixture list, but this year each team’s struggles have taken the lustre out of the rivalry. Liverpool are in 10th place and haven’t won any of their last four Premier League games. Over that span, they have scored one goal and a once-elite attack can’t seem to create anything. While Everton aren’t a good team, they made a managerial change and beat Arsenal last weekend in their first game with their new coach, Sean Dyche. Everton will muck this game up and play an ugly brand of soccer. While it isn’t the most entertaining thing to watch, they should be able to limit a watered-down Liverpool attack and Everton may only need one goal to escape with a win. This is a long shot, but considering Liverpool’s struggles, Everton hold all the value.
