The English Premier League is rolling to an end and there are plenty of things to watch in Matchweek 36. Manchester City and Liverpool are in a two-horse race for the title where City hold a one-point lead. Both squads have four games to play and City don’t play Liverpool, so the Reds will need to get some help from City’s opponents in order to catch them. There is also a riveting fourth-place race that has simmered down to Arsenal and Tottenham. Most teams are still in either a qualification or relegation race, so there is a lot to play for. Each of the 20 EPL teams have a game this weekend, and we have the three best bets to enhance your viewing pleasure.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United
The +150 head-to-head price on Manchester United in this matchup doesn’t make sense. Sure, the Red Devils have been inconsistent all season, but they are still a way better team than Brighton. They may be away, where they have struggled, but Brighton have only three home wins for the entire campaign to date. United still have the talent to beat most teams in the EPL; Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are both elite offensive options who Brighton will struggle to contain. United have a clear advantage in personnel and this line is overrating their inconsistency.
Brighton have had a respectable season. Considered a relegation contender at the start of the season, they will be sticking around in the Premier League for another year as they are firmly in ninth place. They’ll likely finish around that spot, and that’s a great result for them. United, on the other hand, should be embarrassed, as they are only in sixth place and had title aspirations. They are likely out of next season’s Champions League, so they don’t have much to play for outside of pride. And they have a lot of pride. Take United to win, and watch their stars run circles around a team who are just happy to be where they are.
Manchester United to win
Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
This is far and away the game of the weekend. Liverpool need to win for their title run, and Tottenham need a win to stay in the Champions League qualifying race. Both of these teams’ strong suits are their offensive firepower, and that’s what makes the over so appealing. Each team will be motivated to win and will likely throw caution to the wind. The moment one of the teams takes a lead, the game will open up, and that should result in a lot of goals. Both teams have attacking options who can score magical goals, and that should be on full display in this great fixture. Take the over and root for offense.
Over 3 total goals
Leicester City vs Everton
This is an interesting game between two teams in the midst of disappointing seasons. Leicester sit in 11th place with 42 points through 33 games. Everton are in a relegation battle and sit in 18th place with 32 points through 33 games. While Everton have more to play for, Leicester can technically still qualify for next year’s Europa League and will not be giving up on that dream. Leicester have the attacking talent to break down a woeful Everton defense and should comfortably win.
Everton have struggled on the road this season, winning only one of their 16 away games. That’s abysmal and nothing should change in this game. Sure, they beat Chelsea last week and could be hitting their stride, but their whole season has been inconsistent. It’s unlikely they can put together two great performances in a row. And for as bad has Leicester have been by their standards, they are still the better team. Everton will need to play great soccer to beat them in this tough away fixture, and that is hard to count on. Take Leicester and watch them send Everton further into the relegation hole.
Leicester City to win
