EPL Matchweek 7 betting picks & best odds – September 10, 2022

EPL MW7 betting preview

The English Premier League rolls on this Saturday with a slate of six games headlined by Tottenham’s trip north to face Manchester City. Read on to see our top picks for September 10 in EPL Matchweek 7.

Chelsea vs Fulham

Chelsea are off to a rocky start to the season. They currently have 10 points through six games and sit in sixth place. While that isn’t terrible, Chelsea fired Thomas Tuchel during the week and installed Graham Potter as their new manager. The decision has left many fans disappointed and most neutrals baffled. This could put Chelsea in a tough spot heading into this fixture, and with a new coach they may play a relatively risk-free brand of football. The Blues have struggled defensively, so that should be their focus in this game.

The newly promoted Fulham side have had a respectable start to the season. They are in 10th place with eight points through six games and they’ve been surprisingly solid to this point. While they do not have an elite defense, the Cottagers should be able to contain an unreliable Chelsea attack. In turn, they should match their local rivals’ intensity in this derby clash and create a cagey affair. The under is the play here, as there are many question marks floating over Chelsea and their mindset coming into this game.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Bournemouth

Brighton have been the surprise of the season, rising to fourth place in the early weeks. While they lost Graham Potter to Chelsea during the week, the Seagulls look like a genuinely strong team and Alexis Mac Allister is a big reason for that. The Argentine attacking midfielder has four goals in six games and he is playing care-free football. He has been a revelation this year and it appears like the betting sites haven’t noticed yet. At +300, Mac Allister to score a goal is a great bet. He will be the focal point of a Brighton team that should be able to score multiple goals against Bournemouth here.

Liverpool vs Wolverhampton

Liverpool haven’t been playing to their standard. They have struggled defensively this season and it looks like we are witnessing the decline of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. What was once an elite defense has become very porous and Wolves should be able to take advantage of that. That being said, Liverpool still have an attack that should be feared, and while the Reds aren’t clicking to their fullest potential, Wolves should have a tough time keeping them away from goal. This is a game between two good offenses and two iffy defenses, so the over is very appealing.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Until Erling Haaland is at -200 to score, he should be an auto-bet. The Norwegian striker has 10 goals through six games, including back-to-back trebles against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. Manchester City have so much creative talent behind Haaland and that allows him to work freely in the final third. The former Borussia Dortmund star has a legitimate chance to compete for the Premier League single-season goal record and he is off to a phenomenal start. At -165 with Bovada, Haaland to score is great value and the closest bet to a sure thing at this point in the season.
