Parlay leg 1 – West Ham United vs. Arsenal
Saturday, January 12 – 12:30p.m Local time – London Stadium, London, United Kingdom
Unai Emery’s continued search for a top four finish will see him lead his charges to the London Stadium for a Premier League match with West Ham this Saturday. Arsenal’s hopes of pushing for a top four finish suffered damaging setbacks over the Christmas period, as they drew 1-1 away to Brighton on Boxing Day before being walloped 5-1 on their trip to Anfield.
The Gunners have nonetheless bounced back since, trouncing relegation threatened Fulham 4-1 at home before cruising to a reassuring 3-0 win on the road against Blackpool in the Third Round of the FA Cup.
The North Londoners seems to have averted the impending crisis by returning back to winning ways, and should as such edge out the Hammers who only have one win in their last four Premier League games.
Prediction: Arsenal to win – +107 at Bovada
Parlay leg 2 – Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Liverpool
Saturday, January 12 – 3:00p.m Local time – Amex Stadium, Sussex, United Kingdom
Liverpool’s run as the only unbeaten side in the Premier League this season ended last Thursday when they were edged out 2-1 by Manchester City in a thrilling match at the Etihad. Talks of Jurgen Klopp’s charges going unbeaten the entire course of the season were running rife given his sides impressive run and style of play, but Pep Guardiola’s side was able to nick the win; ending the Reds’ 20-match unbeaten run in the league.
Although Klopp went on to field several fringe players during their midweek loss to Wolves in the FA Cup, the former Borussia Dortmund manager would do best to win this weekend’s match against the Seagulls in order to arrest the situation before things quickly escalate out of hand.
Prediction: Liverpool to win – -312.5 at Bovada
Parlay leg 3 – Chelsea vs. Newcastle United
Saturday, January 12 – 5:30p.m Local time – Stamford Bridge, London, United Kingdom
Chelsea has unfalteringly maintained their place in the top four since the start of the current campaign. Of concern for Maurizio Sarri is however the fact that the Blues have over the stretch of the season spiraled from top of the league to fourth.
A 1-0 defeat away to Leicester City right before Christmas coupled with a barren draw against visiting Southampton in their first match of the new calendar year has trimmed their initial 10 point led over sixth placed Manchester United to six points now.
Chelsea, much like Arsenal, will have it hard challenging for a top four finish during the knock out stages of the Europa League, which is why the Blues should aim for nothing short of maximum points while they still can.
Prediction: Chelsea to win – -400 at Bovada
Parlay leg 4 – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United
Sunday, January 13 – 4:30p.m Local time – Wembley Stadium, London, United Kingdom
Manchester United quite frankly looked dead and buried in the race for a top four finish a couple of weeks ago. Four successive wins in the Premier league during the festive fixture has however enabled Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s charges to gain ground on Arsenal and Chelsea, as the Red devils are now three points behind Arsenal in fifth and six points adrift of the Blues in fourth.
The toughest test under their new interim manager will unequivocally be against Spurs, with Mauricio Pochettino having every reason to win the match seeing as he is also a strong candidate for the Old Trafford job.
Be that as it may, a lot seems possible with this unshackled United side.
Prediction: Man United to win – +262 at Bovada
Parlay leg 5 – Manchester City vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
Monday, January 14 – 11:00p.m Local time – Etihad Stadium, Manchester, United Kingdom
Manchester City’s continued longing to topple Liverpool from top spot will be tested again when they play host to Wolves on Monday night.
Wolves, who were promoted back to the top tier having won the Championship last season, have held both Manchester City and United, while beating Spurs, Chelsea and most recently Liverpool.
Nuno Espírito Santo has the capacity to trouble the league’s best, but Guardiola will undoubtedly reap maximum points, especially because every other top side they are competing with will have played.
Prediction: Man City to win – -500 at Bovada
