F1 Brazilian Grand Prix betting preview & best picks

Sao Paulo F1 Grand Prix preview

It’s the final leg of an F1 triple-header this weekend as the 2023 Formula 1 season heads to the Autódromo José Carlos Pace for the 2023 Brazilian Grand Prix.

It is still all about Max Verstappen, who set the all-time record for wins in a season when he won his 16th race last weekend in Mexico. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc joined him on the podium to earn vital points for their teams, while Lando Norris was extremely impressive as he climbed from 18th up to fifth position.

It was a solid weekend for Australian pair Daniel Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri, who finished seventh and eighth respectively. But the pressure is on Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, who added to his disappointing season by crashing out on the first corner.

This weekend marks the 51st edition of the Brazilian Grand Prix, and it may offer more competition at the top, with Mercedes winning three of the last four races at this track. In the final sprint race of the season, expect there to be plenty of action on the track across the weekend. Verstappen will continue to come into every race as the outright favourite, but the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren will all be in the mix on one of the shortest tracks on the calendar.

F1 Brazil Grand Prix 2023 betting strategy

After a horrific qualifying performance left him starting at the back of the grid in Mexico, McLaren’s Lando Norris showed that he is one of the premier drivers on the grid as he worked his way back to fifth position. Although this broke a run of four consecutive podium finishes, it may have been his most impressive drive this season. Coming to Brazil, Norris will be looking to put in an improved qualifying effort to push for positions once again at the top of the field.

Performing well in sprint weekends this season, Oscar Piastri will be looking to get some more points at the top end. Still in his rookie season, he has put together an excellent performance on plenty of tracks he has never raced at before. On a track with a lot more technical corners than Mexico, back the McLaren to suit the conditions as Piastri chases a top-six finish.

Returning from injury just two weekends ago, Daniel Ricciardo had an exceptional weekend in Mexico as he qualified in fourth position and finished the race in seventh despite driving for the last-placed team in the standings. With the second Red Bull seat up for grabs next year, Ricciardo has been given these last five races as an audition to impress as the pressure rises on Sergio Perez. Expect Ricciardo to rise to the occasion with a points finish this weekend.
