Rafael Nadal is a huge favorite in his third-round match against Botic Van De Zandschulp on Day 6 of the 2022 French Open. Here’s our top play in that match and two WTA picks for Martina Trevisan vs Daria Saville and Jil Belen Teichmann vs Victoria Azarenka in this Friday’s French Open best bets.

Rafael Nadal (-1531) vs Botic van de Zandschulp (+856)

Rafael Nadal is the undisputed ‘King of Clay’, and he’s got 13 career French Open titles to prove it. Nadal is off to another strong start at Roland Garros with consecutive straight-set victories over Jordan Thompson and Corentin Moutet. Botic van de Zandschulp has very little experience on clay in his professional career, but he’s off to a solid start in the French Open with wins over Pavel Kotov and Fabio Fognini.

With the betting sites offering no real value on the moneyline, we’ll instead take Rafael Nadal to win this one in straight sets. Since 2014, only once has Nadal needed more than three sets to complete a match in the first three rounds of the French Open. Look for Nadal to cruise to another straight sets win as van de Zandschulp doesn’t figure to be the one to buck this trend.

Martina Trevisan (-156) vs Daria Saville (+136)

Martina Trevisan entered the French Open with plenty of momentum after winning the Morocco Open on clay last week. Trevisan has remained red hot through the first two rounds of the French Open, rolling to easy wins of 6-0, 6-2 over Harriet Dart and 6-3, 6-2 over Magda Linette. During her current seven-match winning streak, Trevisan has dropped only one set.

Daria Saville won’t be a pushover as she comes into this match off of an impressive 6-4, 6-2 upset win over Petra Kvitova in the second round. But considering how well Trevisan is playing at this point, we can’t resist rolling with her at such reasonable odds with the top tennis betting sites.

Jil Teichmann (-110) vs Victoria Azarenka (-110)

This match should be a lot of fun. Jil Teichmann has the clear edge in recent form; she has made a pair of deep runs at the Madrid Open and the Italian Open this month and has looked good in a pair of straight-set wins thus far in the French Open. Victoria Azarenka, meanwhile, is the far more experienced player on the big stage as a former No.1 with two Grand Slam titles under her belt.

Azarenka’s talent and experience will make her a tough out here. But if Teichmann continues to play at the level she has been playing at in recent weeks, we believe that she has enough to come out on top here. Look for a competitive and close match between these two women to eventually go Teichmann’s way on Friday night.
