French Open Day 7 betting picks & top odds – June 5, 2021

Roland Garros tennis odds

The first Saturday of the 2021 French Open sees some interesting encounters scheduled as the likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Sofia Kenin and Elina Svitolina look to book their spot in the second week of the second grand slam of the year. The women’s draw has been blown wide open following the withdrawal of Ash Barty due to injury, leaving plenty of interesting French Open betting opportunities.

Sofia Kenin (-131.58) vs Jessica Pegula (+105)

The fourth seed Sofia Kenin has been breathtaking at times during her first two rounds at the French Open. She made the final last year after winning the Australian Open in 2020 and is back to go one better in 2021. Kenin dropped a set to Jelena Ostapenko in her opening round match this year, but in the second round she easily accounted for qualifier Hailey Baptiste in straight sets. She now comes up against the 18th seed Jessica Pegula, who is also coming off a strong straight-sets win. Kenin comes into the match as a slight favourite, and the +290 on offer for her to win 2-1 looks like great value.

Sloane Stephens (+157) vs Karolina Muchova (-212.77)

World number 59 Sloane Stephens caused an upset when defeating ninth seed Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 6-1 in their second-round encounter. She now faces another Czech, this time Karolina Muchova. We expect this match to be closer than what the market suggests and are happy to take on the +157 on offer for Stephens to progress through to the third round.

Carlos Alcaraz (-185.19) vs Jan-Lennard Struff (+143)

It is hard to believe that qualifier Carlos Alcaraz is a -185.19 favourite over Jan-Lennard Struff, who took out seventh seed Andrey Rublev in the first round. Struff then came out and got the job done in straight sets over Facundo Bagnis in the second round. Alcaraz to his credit did come out and beat 28th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets in the second round, but we expect the Spaniard’s run will come to an end against Struff. This one could go the distance, so we’re backing Struff to win it in the fifth set.

Alexander Zverev (-714.29) vs Laslo Djere (+420)

Our best bet on Day 7 of the French Open comes with the sixth seed Alexander Zverev, who should easily account for Laslo Djere of Serbia. Djere is coming off a long five-setter, whilst Zverev was workmanlike when winning in straight sets on Thursday. Clay may not be Zverev’s strongest surface, but we expect him to progress to the fourth round with a straight-sets victory.

French Open multi bet: 4 legs @ $23.63

We are pretty confident that Stephens and Struff can cause fourth-round upsets, whilst top seeds Kenin and Zverev should be booking their spot in the second week of the 2021 French Open with strong wins on Saturday.

Kenin / Stephens / Struff / Zverev 3-0
