Game 5 NBA playoffs betting, odds & tips – Warriors vs. Rockets

GS v HOU NBA Playoffs

GS v HOU NBA PlayoffsGame 5 — Thursday May 24, 9:00 PM EST at Toyota Center, Houston, TX

At Bovada the Rockets are a 1-point home favorite with the total sitting at 220.5

The best of seven series is tied at 2-2

The Rockets took back home court advantage in this series tying it up at 2-2 with a 95-92 win over the Warriors on the road in Game 4.

After giving up 126 points in the Game 3 loss to the Warriors the Rockets held the Warriors to only 92 points in the Game 4 win. The Rockets were down 10 entering the 4th quarter of Game 4, but outscored Golden State by 13 points in the last period holding them to only 12 points.

While Houston did not have a great shooting Game 4 with a FG% of 39% they held the defending champs to a FG% of 39.3% and they also forced 16 turnovers.

The Warriors were without 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala in Game 4 and his status for Game 5 is up in the air.

Chris Paul and James Harden combined for 57 points in the Game 4 win. While Harden was only 11/26 from the floor and Eric Gordon was the only other player for Houston, besides Paul, to go for double figures the Rockets’ D got the job done.

In the Game 4 loss Kevin Durant went for 27 points and had 12 rebounds, but was only 9/24 from the floor. Steph Curry had 28 points and while making six of his 13 3-pointers he was still only 10/26 from the floor. Golden State got a scare when Klay Thomson (10 points 4/13 shooting in Game 4) went to the locker room with a knee injury, but he returned and will be ready to go in Game 5.

The Warriors have lost three of their last five playoff games on the road.

Houston has to feel a little lucky after the Warriors went so cold in the 4th quarter of Game 4 and Paul and Harden will need more help in the scoring department back home in Game 5.

Golden State key betting trends

  • Golden State is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after a loss
  • Golden State is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Conference Finals games
  • Golden State has an Under record of 6-1 in their last 7 games

Houston key betting trends

  • Houston is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after a win
  • Houston has an Under record of 15-7 in their last 22 home games

Warriors vs. Rockets prediction

The Warriors went cold in the end of Game 4, but I expect them to come out blazing in Game 5. Houston has the confidence and they are at home, but Golden State got a wakeup call in the Game 4 loss and they will rebound and take Game 5 heading home to try to close out the series.
