Harry Kane leaves Spurs for Bayern Munich

Legendary striker Harry Kane has finally left Tottenham and will be joining Bayern Munich after the two clubs agreed on a fee in excess of €100 million. Kane had spent 13 seasons at Tottenham Hotspur and scored 280 goals across 435 games for the London club. The English striker has scored at least 17 Premier League goals in his last nine seasons and is coming off a season where he netted 30 EPL goals.

To put it mildly, he is still one of the best in the business. Kane will join a Bayern team that has needed a striker ever since their own club legend, Robert Lewandowski, left for Barcelona in July 2022. Kane is projected to be a very impactful player for the German side, and he should immediately become one of the most dangerous attackers in the Bundesliga. He is currently -200 to win the Golden Boot in the German league.

Bayern have won a whopping 11 Bundesliga titles in a row and are -330 favorites to repeat as champions this season with the top betting sites. That being said, Kane will earn his paycheck in the Champions League. Ever since the Bavarian side won the UCL in 2020, they have struggled in the tournament and have had three consecutive quarterfinal exits. For the German giants, that is not good enough and was likely the catalyst for signing Kane. They sit at +600 to win the Champions League, and that has dropped from +800 after the new arrival became official.

On the other side of this transfer lies Tottenham. Tottenham will have a tough time replacing their club legend, and they will likely turn to Richarlison in Kane’s absence. Richarlison is full of potential, but he only scored one goal across 27 Premier League appearances last season, and that obviously is not good enough.

The Spurs finished eighth last year and are expected to finish in that range this coming season. They have the seventh-best odds to win the Premier League at +5000 with Bovada and it would be quite surprising if they improved without Kane’s impact.
