The Los Angeles Chargers venture up the California coast this Thursday for a clutch divisional clash with the Oakland Raiders in Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season.
While neither the Chargers nor the Raiders are over .500, both are still in the playoff race. This is an important Thursday night AFC West matchup, as both are trying to keep pace with the 6-3 Kansas City Chiefs in the division.
The Chargers have won two in a row and are coming off their biggest win of the season. The defense was dominant in the 26-11 victory over the Green Bay Packers, whom they held to only 184 total yards.
The Raiders snapped their two-game losing streak in their last game, beating the Detroit Lions 31-24. They rushed for 171 yards and their defense came up big late.
The Chargers really took it to the Packers, outgaining them 442 yards to 184 yards. They rushed for 159 yards while only giving up 45 rushing yards. LA’s defense has only given up 25 points in their last two games and ranks seventh in the NFL overall.

Phillip Rivers passed for 294 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the win over the Packers and Mike Williams led the Bolts with 111 receiving yards. Melvin Gordon rushed for 80 yards and had two touchdowns and Austin Ekeler rushed for 70 yards. Gordon had his best game of the season and Rivers only has one interception in his last three games.
Oakland gave up 473 yards in the win over the Lions and while they rank a solid seventh in the NFL in run defense, they rank dead last in pass defense. They were outgained by the Lions but outscored them 14-7 in the fourth quarter and forced two turnovers while not committing any.
Derek Carr had a solid game in the win over Detroit, passing for 289 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He spread the wealth with three players having at least 52 receiving yards and rookie RB Josh Jacobs rushed for 120 yards with two touchdowns at 4.3 yards per carry.
Jacobs ranks sixth in the NFL in rushing yards and has rushed for at least 120 yards in three of his last four games. That is a big concern for the Chargers, whose run defense only ranks 20th in the league while their pass defense ranks fifth.
This is the first game between these AFC rivals this season and the Chargers have covered the spread in their last four games against the Raiders.
Oakland Raiders to win – +100 at Nags.bet
The Chargers were impressive in their last game and are slight road favorites in this AFC West clash, but they do not match up well against Oakland’s offensive runners. Look for Jacobs to have a big game as the Raiders get the win at home.
