In their last game the Clippers beat the Toronto Raptors in Kawhi Leonard’s return to where he won the title last season. LA did not have a great shooting game, but their defense was great holding Toronto to an FG% of only 35.2%. Seven Clippers players went for double figures led by Leonard with 23 points on 8/14 shooting and Lou Williams came off the bench and had 18 points.

Leonard (24.9 ppg) leads four LA players that are averaging at least 18 pog and Paul George ranks second on the team averaging 23.2 ppg. George only had 13 points on 3/14 shooting in the win over the Raptors after totaling 65 points in his previous two games.

The Timberwolves lost their sixth in a row in their last game falling at home to the Utah Jazz 127-116. The game was tied at the half, but Minnesota was outscored by 14 points in the third quarter. They only shot 44% from the floor and they allowed Utah to shoot a scorching FG% of 56.6%.

In the loss to the Jazz Andrew Wiggins led the T-Wolves with 26 points on 11/23 shooting and Karl-Anthony Towns had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds but was only 6/15 from the floor and missed seven of his nine 3-pointers. Towns (25.9 ppg 11.7 rpg) and Wiggins (24.6 ppg) are the two leading scorers for the team and Jeff Teague is the third leading scorer at 14.1 ppg.

Towns and Wiggins have played well on offense in the last few games, but the Timberwolves’ defense simply cannot stop anybody from lighting up the scoreboard. In this game they face a Clippers team that ranks sixth in the league averaging 115 ppg.

Last season the Clippers took two of three games from the Timberwolves and one of those wins was in Minnesota.
