La Liga MW13 preview

La Liga’s Matchday 13 is here this weekend with nine matches of top-quality Spanish football action. Read on to see our top soccer betting picks for the Primera Division.

Athletic Club vs Celta Vigo

Friday, November 10 – 9pm CET – San Mames Barria

Following an exciting 3-2 victory against Villareal last weekend, Athletic Club now find themselves in fifth position on the table as they push for a European spot. On the other hand, Celta have been struggling this season as they sit in 18th place with just one win so far. With Athletic Club expected to be too strong in this matchup, look for the dangerous Oihan Sancet as the centre of all attacking play for the Basque side.

Rayo Vallecano vs Girona

Saturday, November 11 – 2pm CET – Estadio de Vallecas

The high-flying Girona continued their winning ways last weekend as they jumped to top spot on the table with a 4-2 win over Osasuna. The best attacking side in La Liga, they score through a variety of different ways, not relying upon a single player. Rayo would be thrilled with their 0-0 draw with Real Madrid this week, but despite being undefeated in the last eight weeks, Girona should be too strong.

Girona to win

Almeria vs Real Sociedad

Saturday, November 11 – 4:15pm CET – Power Horse Stadium

Currently the worst side across Europe’s top five leagues, Almeria have struggled on both the offensive and defensive ends this year. Coming up against a dynamic Real Sociedad side, Almeria’s struggles look likely to continue. Look for Real Sociedad forward Mikel Oyarzabal to have plenty of chances around goal.

Granada vs Getafe

Saturday, November 11 – 6:30pm CET – Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes

After a poor start to the season, Getafe have turned their fortunes around recently as they sit undefeated across the last six weeks. They have a great chance to continue their run this weekend as they face the 19th placed Granada. However, despite the clear disparity in form, Getafe have not won in Granada since 2013 and also lead La Liga in drawn matches this season.

Osasuna vs Las Palmas

Saturday, November 11 – 6:30pm CET – Estadio El Sadar

A mid-table clash between two low scoring sides, this match shapes as one that will be decided by a single moment of brilliance. Las Palmas enters as the form side, with wins in four of their last five matches, including a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid last weekend. However, Osasuna has the home advantage which should make this a close contest.

Under 2.5 total goals

Real Madrid vs Valencia

Saturday, November 11 – 9pm CET – Estadio Santiago Bernabeu

After dropping points last weekend in a 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid will be extremely motivated to bounce back with a win as they continue their title chase. Valencia are undefeated in their last four matches and beat Real Madrid back in May, but should be no match in Madrid.

Real Madrid to win

Barcelona vs Deportivo Alaves

Sunday, November 12 – 4:15pm CET – Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys

Barcelona will be looking for a much more convincing performance this weekend after they were saved by a 92nd minute winner last weekend against Real Sociedad. Their opponent Deportivo Alaves have struggled this season and despite a win over 20th placed Almeria last weekend, they should be no match for Barcelona at home. Look out for youngster Lamine Yamal to be a constant threat around goals.

Sevilla vs Real Betis

Sunday, November 12 – 6:30pm CET – Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

The matchup of the round sees local rivals Sevilla and Betis face off in ‘El Gran Derbi’ this weekend. Traditionally a derby dominated by Sevilla, recent form suggests that Betis are a shot of their first win since 2018. Undefeated in their last seven matches, sixth placed Betis will be confident of a result against the 15th placed Sevilla.

Real Betis to win

Atletico Madrid vs Villarreal

Sunday, November 12 – 9pm CET – Estadio Civitas Metropolitano

Closing out matchday 13, fourth placed Atletico Madrid host the Struggling Villarreal as they look to continue their title push. After dropping critical points in a 2-1 defeat to Las Palmas last weekend, Atletico responded in the best possible way as they won their midweek Champions League clash with Celtic 6-0. Conversely, Villareal have won just one of their past seven matches and should be no match for the Madrid side.

Atletico Madrid to win
