Mansion Group to shut down all UK gambling operations

Mansion Group, which runs several sports betting and iGaming brands worldwide, has announced it is shutting down its operations in the United Kingdom.

The company has surrendered its UK operating license to the authorities and, as of January 12, has stopped accepting deposits and facilitating gameplay. Players can still withdraw from their accounts, but they must zero them out on or before April 12. 

Mansion Group entered the UK 20 years ago and until last year, when it decided to focus on only iGaming, it offered both online casino and sports betting services to Britons. The operator ran Casino.com, Mansion Casino, and Slots Heaven, while MansionBet was its sports betting platform. But after running the sports betting platform for over five years, the operator closed it down close to a year ago citing plans to extend its international reach. 

Meanwhile, the operator currently sponsors football teams including Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Bristol City. The decision to leave the UK gambling market will force all British partners to terminate their contracts with the operator.

Regarding the reason for its withdrawal from the UK, Mansion has cited middling profits and “increasingly challenging regulatory conditions that have led to much narrower paths to profitability”. The company has, however, added it is focusing on its online casino offerings in other countries, namely Spain and Canada.

“The UK was for many years our core market and we look forward to sharing 20 years of wonderful customer experiences with all our non-UK clients for many years to come.”
