The Minnesota Vikings head to the Lone Star State this Sunday night to take on a Dallas Cowboys side aiming for three wins in a row.
The Vikings lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 26-23 in their last game, but they remain only one game off the lead in the NFC North after the Green Bay Packers also lost last week.

The Cowboys won their second in a row in their last game, beating the New York Giants 37-18 on Monday night. Dallas have scored 37 points in each of their last two games and have a one-game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.
Minnesota’s run game behind Dalvin Cook was not great in the loss to the Chiefs, who drilled a game-winning field goal as time expired. Cook leads the NFL in rushing yards with 894 on the season, but he only rushed for 71 yards at 3.4 yards per carry in the defeat to KC.

Kirk Cousins passed for 220 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs game. He has played well of late, but Minnesota are nowhere near as dangerous when Cook is off and Cousins has to carry the offense.
The Dallas defense is well balanced, ranking seventh in the NFL against the pass and 11th against the run. Their run defense will be key in this game against Cook and company. The Cowboys gave up 100 rushing yards in the win over the Giants, but they bottled up Saquon Barkley and held him to 28 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Dallas outgained NY by 429 yards to 271, yet the game was close until the Cowboys bolted away with 21 points in the fourth quarter. Dak Prescott passed for 257 yards with three touchdowns and one pick, while Ezekiel Elliot rushed for 139 yards and averaged six yards per carry.
Elliot has rushed for at least 105 yards in each of his last three games and now faces a Minnesota run defense that ranks ninth in the NFL. The Vikes also have a solid pass defense, ranking eighth in the league in that category.

The Cowboys have failed to cover the spread in their last five games facing a team with a winning record, and that trend will continue this week. Cook will bounce back and have a good game, and both teams will play well on the offensive side of the ball. While Dallas may get the win in a close one, the Vikings will cover the spread.
