This week, NFL fans are in for a treat on Monday Night. The NFL season schedule makers have blessed us with two entertaining games as opposed to the normal one. Don’t get used to it, though, as this will be only week that has two Monday Night games. Regardless, here are our best picks for the double feature.
Buffalo Bills vs Tennessee Titans
After week one, it’s clear the public perception of these two teams is heading in opposite directions. The Bills demolished the Rams and established themselves as a Super Bowl contender. On the other side of the coin, the Titans lost a close contest against the lowly New York Giants and appear like they may be in for a rough season. Not so fast. It was only week one and it’s important to remember that. These teams’ seasons will not be defined by one week and the Titans were projected to be a good team. 10 points is far too much and the value lies with Tennessee in this battle.
The Titans should be able to run the ball with success and control the clock in this game. Tennessee have Derrick Henry, one of the best running backs in the NFL and although he was quiet in Week One, he should bounce back here. The Bills do not project to have an elite rushing defense and the Titans should be able to get Henry going. If he runs the ball well, the Titans should easily cover this game and perhaps even come away with a surprising win.
Tennessee Titans +10
Gabriel Davis Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Gabriel Davis is the wide receiver two for the Buffalo Bills and he has established himself as a great red zone target. Because the Bills main receiver, Stefon Diggs, draws a lot of attention, Davis should be open a lot in this game. Davis had a touchdown last game and should be in line for another one this week. No matter how this contest plays out, it’s safe to say the Bills will be able to score. There will be plenty of touchdowns to go around and Davis is a great bet to land one.
Gabriel Davis Anytime Touchdown
Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings
Both of these teams are coming off of impressive week one victories and they both should feel confident coming into this game. The Eagles won a high scoring affair against the Detroit Lions and flashed their offensive potential. This issue was, however, they let the Lions score 35 points and their defense cannot be trusted. The Vikings should be able to take advantage of that defense and even though Philly is at home, the value is on the Vikings in this matchup.
The Vikings dominated the Green Bay Packers in week one and showed they can be a great team this year. There was optimism for Minnesota due to an offseason coaching change but it was still unclear how good they could be. In week one, they looked like a Super Bowl contender. While that may be a little lofty, this team is clearly improved on past teams and they are set up for a playoff run. This game won’t be easy, but Minnesota is more trustworthy than the Eagles and they should be able to win this away game.
Minnesota Vikings +2
Justin Jefferson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
If Justin Jefferson has better odds than -150 to score a touchdown, it should be an auto-bet with the top online betting sites. Jefferson is one of the best receivers in the NFL and has the record for most receiving yards through a player’s first two seasons. In Week One, Jefferson torched the Packers to the tune of 189 yards and two touchdowns. The new Vikings coaching staff is making a concerted effort to feed Jefferson the ball and he should go off in most games. This game projects to be high scoring affair and Jefferson should be a big part of that. Take him to score a touchdown and watch one of the best receivers in the league go to work.
Just Jerfferson Anytime Touchdown
