NBA best bets, spread picks & top odds – Thursday, February 10

NBA odds and tips

Thursday’s NBA schedule sees the Memphis Grizzlies head to Detroit Pistons while the Brooklyn Nets visit the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks take on the Phoenix Suns at FootPrint Center. Here are BP’s free NBA betting picks for February 10.

Memphis Grizzlies at Detroit Pistons

The Grizzlies have been one of the surprises this year and do not look like they are slowing down. They have gone 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games and have been blowing teams out. While this is a large line to pick for an away team, the Grizzlies have a record of 19-8 ATS in away games this season. They have the depth to stay energized throughout the game and that’s exactly what they have done. As a team, they lead the league in rebounds per game and they love to tire teams out by running in transition.

The Detroit Pistons are exactly who we thought they were. After landing the first overall pick in the NBA draft last year, this year was supposed to be a rebuilding year. And it has been exactly that. They are 12-42 and outside of their first overall pick Cade Cunningham, there aren’t a lot of studs to keep up with the Grizzlies. Cade is a lot of fun, but he’s still a couple years away from raising the profile of this team to a level where they can compete for a playoff berth. The Pistons have lost five in a row and we expect that streak to carry on tonight as the Grizzlies should coast to a 20 point victory.

Brooklyn Nets at Washington Wizards

The sky is falling in Brooklyn. Kevin Durant is injured, James Harden wants to leave the team after one year and Kyrie Irving is Kyrie Irving-ing. In a season where they were the betting favorites to win the title, they now are on the playoff bubble and have lost their last nine games. While there still is time to right the ship and return to the elite tier of NBA teams, it won’t happen until Durant is back. They definitely have all the pieces to make a title run but their cohesion has been in question ever since Durant and Kyrie met up in Brooklyn. As a result, they haven’t been scoring and have only put up over 110 points two times during their nine game skid.

On the other side of the court, the Wizards are also a mess. Now, their best player and scorer, Bradley Beal will be out for the rest of the season with a wrist injury. Beyond him, they do not have a lot of scoring talent. After a strong start, the Wizards have only won two of their last 10 games and will likely be missing the playoffs yet again. Neither of these teams should be happy with their recent play and this will be a game that both teams just want to get through in order to rest during the all star break. In what should be a sloppy game, the under is very appealing as these teams just do not have the talent and motivation to light up the scoreboard at this current juncture.

Milwaukee Bucks at Phoenix Suns

In what is unquestionably the game of the night and one of the games of the season so far, this title rematch should be a very entertaining bout. Both teams are very hot as of late and it truly could go either way. That being said, the Suns have been on a tear since their finals loss last year and will want to prove that they should be considered one of the title favorites. They are 22-5 at home this season and will come into this game winning nine of their last 10. Chris Paul and Devin Booker have raised their level to new heights this season and they are unquestionably the best team in the league right now. They will be motivated to avenge their finals loss and should cover the -3 in what will be an awesome game.

The Bucks are also playing great basketball. They will be coming off a big win against the Lakers in the Staples Crypto.com arena and have been dominant since Giannis called out the team for ‘sucking’. They are, however, coming to the end of a long road trip and the Bucks have struggled on the road this season. Milwaukee is 16-12 on the road and only 3-8 as an underdog this season. In a game that should be back and forth, we expect the Suns to win and cover, perhaps on the back of some late game free throws.
