Many of the teams battling tonight are in a playoff race and each game counts. While there are no true heavyweight showdowns, it will still be a fun night of ball and here are the best picks on the board for tonight’s matchups.

Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics Picks

Both of these teams will be expecting to make a deep playoff run but still have some work to do as it pertains to even making the playoffs. Coming off a surprise Eastern Conference appearance last year, the Hawks have had a let down season. With a 29-31 record that has them clinging on to the 10 seed and a play in game berth, the Hawks are in must win territory. While the Celtics won’t make it easy, the Hawks have the offensive weapons to go at the Celtic’s stout defense and keep this game close. Atlanta is 12-6 against the spread in their last 18 games and have been playing better recently so they should cover the spread.

The Celtics will be hoping to bounce back off a surprising loss to the lowly Pacers. Despite that loss, they are still 11-2 in their last 13 and were one of the hottest teams heading into the all star break. It’s hard to believe they will take a nosedive after playing such great basketball but this is a tough spot for them. The Hawks will play every game with playoff intensity from here on out and it will make this a close game. The Celtics should still escape with a win but the Hawks +6.5 is too much value to pass on.

Golden St. Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves ML Tips

This game has all the makings of the game of the night. Steph Curry is a must watch player and the Timberwolves have all the young talent to make any game extremely entertaining. The Warriors are among the elite of the league and will carry a 43-18 record into this game. For a game that is a pick-em, you may be wondering why the Timberwolves are the pick. It simply comes down to injuries for the Warriors. They will be without Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. These injuries have slowed down the Warriors and they will come into this game with a 1-6 record against the spread in their last seven.

The Wolves can take advantage of those injuries and barring a Steph Curry explosion, should be able to win this home game. While Steph is capable of dropping 50 on any given night, the Wolves are 8-2 in their last 10 home games and have the depth to run the Warriors off the court. They have the energy and hustle to take advantage of the Warriors porous defense without Draymond on the court and Karl Anthony Towns should have a field day against a weak interior defense. While picking against the Warriors is always scary, the Wolves at home are a smart bet in this situation and should be able to pick up a needed win.

Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

Two of the best players in the league will square off tonight in a matchup between Luka Doncic’s Mavs and LeBron James’s Lakers. While this should be a close game, these teams are completely trending in opposite directions. The Mavericks have been surprisingly solid defensively and have rode Luka’s offensive prowess to a 36-25 record. They are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games and have been playing their best basketball as of late. Luka has been on fire in recent games and while betting against LeBron is scary, one could make the argument betting against Luka is equally as scary.

The Lakers are a mess and the Russell Westbrook experience has been a unanimous failure. The Lakers are 27-33 and legitimately in danger of missing the playoffs. They stink and are 1-5 in their last six games. While you can never rule out LeBron and his ability to work magic, the Lakers have been awful recently and it hasn’t mattered whether they are at home. The Mavs are simply a better team and should cover this number with relative ease.
