NBA Playoff Top Picks and Best Bets | Wednesday, April 27

The first round of the NBA playoffs are winding down and we already have one series finished. The Brooklyn Nets, led by two of the best players in the world in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, got swept by the Boston Celtics in a surprising series. Now, there are many other teams facing a deficit and could be sent home in the near future. In both of Wednesday’s games, teams are down 3-1 and will fight for their playoff lives. On the other side of it, the winning team will be extra motivated to knock their opponent out and get the longer rest for the next round. Regardless of what happens, this Wednesday slate has a lot of intrigue and we have a pick for each game.

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks

This game is going to go a lot like the series has. After Chicago showed some fight early, the Bucks dominated Game 4 and 5 and stamped their claim on the series. It would not be surprising for Chicago, up against elimination, to come out motivated but they simply do not have the talent the Bucks have. The Bucks will be at home and will be coming off two straight blowout wins. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the world and is showing that. After a dominant playoffs last year, he is one upping himself and playing unbelievably well.

Also, Chicago is dealing with a bit of injury crisis. Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine won’t play and Alex Caruso is questionable. Without those guys, they simply don’t have a lot of guard depth and losing LaVine drastically hurts their scoring. They still have DeMar DeRozan, but he can’t match up to Giannis. Yes, this a huge line and it will be hard for the Bucks to cover, but they have proven in this series they are way better than the Bulls. They have blown the Bulls out in two straight basketball games and should make it three in a row in this game. Take the Bucks and watch Giannis.

Denver Nuggets at Golden St Warriors

After a couple blowouts in the start of this NBA series, Denver has looked better and even won last time out. They are still down 3-1 and completely overmatched, but they have shown true grit and the ability to fight against a way better squad. Unlike the Bulls in the preview written above, the Nuggets have been playing better in recent games and should give the Warriors a run for their money. It may not result in a win, but they should keep it close and cover the number.

Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is the guy you want in these spots. He won’t back down at all and will genuinely believe they can come all the way back in this series. Sure, that may not be likely, but it’s the temperament you want from a star player. He is going to go down fighting and although his supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired, they are capable of getting hot and hitting threes. If those threes are falling, the Nuggets could win but this line gives them a lot of wiggle room. It’s going to be tough in Golden St’s home arena, but the Nuggets are up for the challenge. Take Denver and hope they keep it close.
