NC State Wolfpack vs. Clemson Tigers NCAA spread betting & value bets
NC State vs. Clemson – 3:30 PM EST, Saturday, October 20, at Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC
Betting Line: Clemson -16.5
Over/Under: 55.5 points at 888 Sportsbook
THE 16th-ranked NC State hits the road to face third-ranked Clemson in a game which has big ACC and BCS implications.
Both teams are undefeated and the game offers many solid college football betting options for punters to take advantage of.
NC State is undefeated and the 16th ranked team in the nation, but how good are they? They have not faced a ranked team so far with their game against West Virginia Cancelled. However, the Wolfpack are 2-0 in ACC play and in their last two games beat conference rivals Boston College and Virginia, who have a combined record of 9-4. NC State has a solid offense led by the nation’s sixth ranked passing offense and their defense ranks 16th in the nation only giving up an average of 16.8 ppg.
Clemson has the nation’s sixth ranked scoring defense, rank 14th in points per game, and rank fourth in the country averaging 280.8 rushing yards per game. On top of that they have a hugely talented freshman quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, who is so good he took over for Kelly Bryant, who led the Tigers to the BCS playoff last season and is transferring after losing his starting job. Yeah, Clemson is loaded and anything less than a BCS title will likely be looked at as a disappointing season.
This season NC State is 5-0 SU with an ATS record of 3-2 and an O/U record of 2-3 and Clemson is 6-0 with an ATS record of 2-4 and an O/U record of 3-3.
Not only has NC State covered the spread in six of their last eight games facing Clemson, but have also covered in five of their last six games against them on the road.
Last season at NC State the Tigers beat the Wolfpack 38-31.
NC State is coming off a 28-23 win over Boston College where they racked up 533 yards and survive d turning the ball over four times. Ryan Finley passed for 308 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and he has a solid wide receiver corps. He only has three interceptions on the season with two coming in the last game and he cannot turn the ball over in this game.
While the run game is not the strength of the Wolfpack offense they did have 225 rushing yards in their last game. They need to help out Finley in this game facing a killer Clemson defense that ranks six in the nation against the pass and 14th against the run.
Clemson is coming off a 63-3 blowout win over Wake Forest where they did not really have a ton of rushing yards, but they had balance and nearly rushed for 300 yards. Lawrence only passed for 93 yards in the game and he has yet to pass for over 200 yards, but why pass the ball when you have a running back like Travis Etienne, who has averaged 163.5 rushing yards per game in his last four games? Can the Wolfpack stop him? Big question, but NC State does have the nation’s 13th ranked run defense, which will be surely be tested in this ACC game.

NC State vs. Clemson betting prediction
NC State is a good team, but not a great one like Clemson is.
The Tigers are stacked and they have a quarterback they have a freshman quarterback they have not even unleashed yet and why should they with the run game they have?
Clemson will send a message in this game showing that they are the cream of the crop, by far, in the ACC, as they will win this game in a blowout at home easily winning and covering the spread.
