Leg 1 – Mississippi State vs. Alabama

Alabama is #1 in the nation and in the BCS poll and they are coming off a more than impressive win beating 3rd ranked LSU 29-0. The Tide are stacked on both sides of the ball and are the highest scoring team in the nation and rank seventh in points allowed per game. In their nine wins this season the closest game was winning by 22 points.

Mississippi State has won two in a row and three of their last four games with two of those wins coming against ranked teams. The Bulldogs have the nation’s second ranked defense in terms of opponents’ points per game and keeping the Tide in check will be no easy feat to say the least.

MSU played Alabama close last season on the road only losing by seven points, but it will not be close in this SEC game. The Crimson Tide will shut down the Bulldogs offense and their offense cannot be stopped. Even giving 24 points on the road Alabama will win and cover.

Leg 2 – Auburn vs. Georgia

Auburn is back in the top 25 after winning their last two games after losing two in a row. Their offense is not a high scoring one, but they are balanced and have a legit defense ranking 13th in the nation giving up an average of 17.3 points per game.

Georgia has won two in a row and took out 9th ranked Kentucky in their last game. The Bulldogs have some work to do, as they are the 5th ranked BCS team and need a strong finish to get in the top four. They are solid on both sides of the ball and have a great run game. Since a big win over a ranked team will look good on their resume look for Georgia to run up the score in what will be a lopsided win.

Leg 3 – Texas vs. Texas Tech

In last week’s parlay, I picked the Over with Texas Tech and while the total was high the Over was still the winning bet. The Red Raiders lost to Oklahoma in a 51-46 shootout. Tech has lost two in a row and in those losses, they have combined to score 97 points and 71 points respectively.

Texas has lost two in a row where the total went Over in both games. Their defense has been the main issue in those losses where they gave up 80 points. Their offense totaled 76 points in the two recent losses and look for them to light up the scoreboard in this game facing a Red Raiders’ squad that is giving up an average of 30.7 points per game.

In Texas Tech’s last 29 home games the total has gone Over 21 times.
