The New England Patriots are looking to make it seven wins in a row as they take on the struggling New York Jets on Monday night.
The Patriots are the lone undefeated team in the AFC, yet they still have a lot of issues. The offense has not looked great, they are dealing with many key injuries, and their star kicker is on IR. However, they have Tom Brady and the defense has been sensational. In 79 drives this season on defense the Pats have only allowed three field goals and two touchdowns.
The Jets are coming off their first win of the season after beating the Dallas Cowboys 24-22 in a big upset. Sam Darnold was back for that game after missing a few with mono and he lit up the Dallas secondary.

New England have only faced one team with a winning record and that was a narrow 16-0 win over the Buffalo Bills. In their last game they beat the New York Giants 35-14 where they forced four turnovers and scored a TD on a fumble return and blocked punt.
While the Patriots have not played a tough schedule, they have still limited opponents to an average of 8.0 ppg while scoring an average of 31.7 ppg.
These teams met in New England in Week 3 where the Patriots beat the Jets 30-14 with Darnold on the sidelines. The Pats have won six straight games facing the Jets.

In their win over the Giants the Pats defense was the star, holding New York to only 213 total yards and a mere 52 rushing yards. Brady passed for 331 yards with no touchdowns and an interception and Julian Edelman led the team with 113 receiving yards. Sony Michel, who leads the team in rushing yards on the season, had 86 rushing yards in the win over the Giants averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
The Jets’ defense ranks a respectable 13th in the league against the run but only 21st against the pass. New York only totaled 105 yards in the loss to the Patriots this season while giving up 381 yards.
In their 24-22 win over the Cowboys the Jets had fewer overall yards (399-382) and only rushed for 52 yards, but Darnold returned under center and passed for 338 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Robbie Anderson had 125 receiving yards, including a 92 yard touchdown reception, and Jamison Crowder had 98 receiving yards.
Le’Veon Bell’s first season with the Jets has been far from spectacular and while leading the team with 256 yards he has failed to average over 3.6 yards per carry in any game and is averaging three yards per carry on the season.
While the Patriots’ defense has been killer five of their six opponents have an offense that does not rank in the top 24 in the league. The Jets rank dead last in the league on offense, but Darnold is back and many experts think New England will be tested in this AFC East showdown at MetLife Stadium on Monday night.

The Jets’ are buzzing after their last game and Darnold’s performance even though the team only has one win. They will come after Brady early and often in this game and look to disrupt what has been a shaky offense for New England in the last few games. The Jets will not win this game, but they will give New England a fight and cover the nearly double-digit spread at home.
