NFC East betting preview, top picks & futures odds – NFL 2023

The NFC, on paper, looks to have far fewer Super Bowl contenders than the AFC, but in the NFL anything can happen and we will find value regardless. Here is our NFC East 2023 season preview, including free NFL betting picks for the division.

Philadelphia Eagles

-130 at Bovada

The Eagles were in the Super Bowl last year and look like the best team in the NFC yet again. Considering they have a young team with a lot of cheap contracts, they were able to improve this offseason and Philadelphia looks primed to repeat their 14-3 performance last year. Quarterback Jalen Hurts will be entering his fourth season, and he should only improve.

That makes the Eagles a great pick to win the division, and while they are big favorites, they are clearly the best team. Their aforementioned young team should all take another step forward and their mix of offensive and defensive talent ensure every opponent will have their hands full. Take the Eagles at -130 to win the NFC East for the second straight year as they try to bounce back from a disappointing Super Bowl loss.

Dallas Cowboys

+190 at Bovada

While the Dallas Cowboys somewhat lucked their way to a 12-5 record last year, they have a lot of talent and 12 wins is no joke. On both sides of the ball, Dallas will look pretty similar and their success comes down to their quarterback, Dak Prescott. He is coming off of his worst season as a full-time starter and it appears like he may be trending downwards.

Because of that, the Cowboys should not be bet on to win the division. The Eagles have a better roster and should take care of their rivals. The Cowboys’ win total is currently set at 9.5 wins and we love the value of the under at +124. Dallas lost their offensive coordinator this past offseason and that means the offense will be under the control of their head coach, Mike McCarthy. He is known as an outdated tactician and Dallas should struggle, so take the under.

New York Giants

The New York Giants are one of the most unpredictable teams across the NFL. While they finished last year at 9-7-1, no one took them seriously as a playoff team – until they made the playoffs. The Giants won’t be good enough to win their division, but they could once again be a scrappy team that fights until the final whistle. They have a great coach in Brian Daboll and their over of 7.5 wins at -106 is a strong bet. In combination with a solid defense, QB Daniel Jones and RB Saquon Barkley should do enough offensively to make the Giants competitive.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders, like the Giants, were a very scrappy team and they battled their way to an 8-8-1 record last season. That being said, they do not look set up to compete this year. While they have a bevy of skill-position players, they do not have a starting quarterback locked in – and whether it’s Jacoby Brissett or Sam Howell, we expect them to have a tough time. Washington could still finish with around seven wins but that isn’t enough to really move the needle and they should be avoided.
