NFC North 2023 betting preview, top picks & best odds- NFL 2023

We are continuing on with our 2023 NFL Season preview and this article will cover the NFC North. The NFC North projects to be a very competitive division and there is a legitimate argument that all four teams could be the best when the season ends. That being said, uncertainty brings value. Here are our picks for the NFC North.

Detroit Lions

+145 at Bovada

The Detroit Lions are coming off their greatest season in recent memory and have become everyone’s favorite dark horse team. However, we just don’t see it. While they will have a good offense like they did last year, they were in the top five for points allowed per game and simply do not have a good enough defense to win this division. Guys like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams will make this team tough to stop but when they can’t stop anyone themselves, it leaves a bit of a rocky outlook and it would be surprising to see them top last year’s win total of nine.

Due to that, we will take Detroit’s win total under of 9.5 wins at +100. Every year, a few teams “win” the offseason and get overhyped by NFL fans. This year, we think that team is the Lions and we project them to be a fine team — not a playoff contender. Take the under and watch their struggles start early when they take on the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in the first game of the NFL season.

Minnesota Vikings

+300 at Bovada

On the complete opposite side of the hype machine lies the Minnesota Vikings. Unlike the Lions, NFL fans have written off the Vikings and are projecting a lot of regression to hit them. And it makes sense. Minnesota won a whopping 11 one-score games last season en route to a 13-4 record and given the nature of the NFL, they are expected to lose some of those. But, they still have a talented, well-coached team. While we don’t think they will win 13 games again, we think they are clearly the best team in this division and +300 is great value for that to happen.

Simply put, the Minnesota Vikings have the best playmaker in the NFL in Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has won multiple games for the Vikings in recent seasons and now, Minnesota drafted another first-round wide receiver in Jordan Addison to run routes across from him. This will give the Vikings offense an extra edge and while their defense is poor, they aren’t as bad as the Lions. Take the Vikings to win their second straight divisional title at +300 with the top sports betting sites.

Green Bay Packers

+330 at Bovada

The Aaron Rodgers era is finally over in Green Bay after 15 seasons as their starting QB, and now, it’s Jordan Love’s turn. Love has barely played in his two seasons in the NFL and he hasn’t exactly flashed the potential that made him a first-round pick three years ago. Although Green Bay has good players across their roster, the questions at QB make this team one to avoid. At +330, they do not present the value that the Vikings do and with the Packers, anything could happen. As of right now, we won’t be betting on any of their futures.

Chicago Bears

+350 at Bovada
The Bears are a fun team with an exciting quarterback but other than that, they aren’t true contenders. While QB Justin Fields is an electric scrambler, he has struggled with pass accuracy and he is too turnover prone to trust. The Bears were 3-14 last season and they look like they will be much closer to that than their current win total, which is set at 7.5 wins. Because of the lack of trust we have in Fields and the overall dearth of defensive talent, we will hit that under at -108 and count on Chicago to have another disappointing season.
