NFL 2021 Week 14 betting picks & top odds – Sunday, December 12

The Washington Football Team carries a four-game win streak into its home game against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday in Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season. We have a pick in that matchup as well as the Detroit Lions vs Denver Broncos and New York Giants vs Los Angeles Chargers games this weekend.

Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) at Washington Football Team (+4.5)

The Dallas Cowboys (8-4-0) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 27-17 win over the New Orleans Saints last Thursday night. The Washington Football Team (6-6-0) had another strong showing on defense in a 17-15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, improving to 4-0 over its last four games with four straight upsets.

Despite having won each of its last four games, Washington still finds itself going off as a big underdog at home this Sunday. Yes, the Cowboys are the more talented team on paper, but Dallas is also just 2-3 over its last three wins with its only two victories coming against the lowly Atlanta Falcons and the slumping Saints. Washington and its defense deserve a lot more respect than this betting line is giving. We’ll happily take the points in what should be a close, hard-fought division rivalry game.

Detroit Lions (+8.5) at Denver Broncos (-8.5)

Much like the Dallas vs Washington matchup, this game’s point spread seems to be ignoring current form in favor of overall perception. The Detroit Lions (1-10-1) are terrible, but they just picked up their first win of the season on Sunday in a 29-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings as seven-point underdogs. Prior to that win, Detroit had allowed only 15 points per game over its previous three games and covered the spread in all of them.

The Denver Broncos (6-6-0), meanwhile, are 1-2 over their last three games and 3-6 over their last nine. They couldn’t get anything going on offense in a 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and have scored 17 points or less in four of their last six games. Expect a low-scoring game in this one that should make the 8.5 points the Lions are getting more than enough to cover the spread.

New York Giants (+10) at Los Angeles Chargers (-10)

It’s unclear how the New York Giants (4-8-0) are going to produce any offense on Sunday. Starting quarterback Daniel Jones is out and backup quarterback Mike Glennon is in concussion protocol, which could lead to third-stringer Jake Fromm getting the start. Running back Saquon Barkley is questionable with an ankle injury. The Giants have managed only 10.7 points per game over their last three games and there’s no reason to expect any better this Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers (7-5-0) are coming off of a 41-22 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, marking the second time in their last three games that they’ve scored 41 points. Los Angeles needs a win here to keep pace in the race for a playoff spot in the AFC. And they have one of the league’s best young quarterbacks in Justin Herbert. All signs point to a blowout.
