NFL Divisional Round best picks & prop bets | Sunday, January 22

NFL football tips

After the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs kicks off this Saturday, we have two more awesome games slated for Sunday. The Buffalo Bills will host the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers will host the Dallas Cowboys in what promises to be an awesome day of games. A spot in the Conference Championship Round is on the line and we have some picks for each of the Sunday games.

Buffalo Bills vs Cincinnati Bengals

This is an awesome game between two teams led by two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. While each squad somewhat faltered in their first playoff game, they both were able to survive and it’s clear that they were focusing on this matchup. Well now it’s here and it will be Joe Burrow vs Josh Allen. This is what the playoffs are all about. The public is all over the Bengals in this spot as Cincy holds 72% of the handle. Logically, it makes sense. These teams are both elite and this game could go either way. But looking deeper, the Bills hold the advantage. First of all, Buffalo is 7-1 on their home field this year and the Bengals are 6-3 in away games. Buffalo have been elite in Highmark Stadium over the past few years and it’s one of the best home-field advantages across the NFL. The other reason we like the Bills is they simply have a more trustworthy defense than Cincy. While the Bengals have a scrappy defense, this game features two elite defenses and we simply trust Buffalo more to get that big stop. Take Buffalo -5.5 in a game that should be filled with highlight plays.

Dawson Knox Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Dawson Knox is the tight end for the Buffalo Bills and he is a true matchup nightmare. Knox is a very physical receiver who surprises defenses with his speed and that has made him one of Josh Allen’s favorite redzone targets. Knox has caught a touchdown in each of the past five games and he is in line to catch another in this spot. This game should feature tons of points and both teams will sling the ball up and down the field. Around the endzone, Knox will be featured and considering the Bills should be in that area a lot in this game, Knox to score at +195 is a great value bet.

Ja’Marr Chase Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Ja’Marr Chase is a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals and he is truly one of the best talents across the entire NFL. The second-year wide receiver has linked up with his college QB Joe Burrow to create one of the NFL’s truly unstoppable duos. And the Bills will struggle to stop it. Although the Bills have a bevy of solid defenders in their secondary, Chase will still be able to make an impact on the game. Ja’Marr has 10 touchdowns across 13 games this season and in his first playoff game this season, he had 12 targets. If the Bengals want to win, they will throw to chase a lot and his touchdown odds of +125 are a great value given Chase’s role on this team.

San Francisco 49ers vs Dallas Cowboys

While the first Sunday game will be a battle of offensive firepower, this game projects to be a defensive affair. Of course, both teams have competent offenses, but these teams are powered by their defense and that should make the difference in this spot. That all being said, we are picking Dallas because of one guy, 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy has played admirably in his time as the starting QB but he hasn’t truly been tested. While the seventh-round rookie is 7-0 in games he’s started, they haven’t played a defense like the Cowboys in his tenure and we find it hard to believe he will thrive against a really solid defense. The Cowboys should struggle with the Niners’ defense but we believe they will lock down Purdy and create turnovers. As a result, Dallas should be on the front foot all game long and they look primed to advance into the NFC Championship game.

Deebo Samuel Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Deebo Samuel is the uber-talented wide receiver for San Francisco and he will be a big factor in this game. Deebo is back to full health and he showcased the impact he brings in the Niners’ win last week. Deebo was able to break a 75-yard touchdown on a short pass from Purdy and San Francisco never looked back. Although Dallas have a better defense than Seattle did last week, Deebo will still be tough to deal with. An injury-plagued season hurt his numbers this year but Deebo tallied 16 touchdowns in 20 games last year. Samuel will need to make a splash in this game if the Niners want to score and at +140, we like his chances.

Dak Prescott Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Dak Prescott is the QB for the Dallas Cowboys and while he isn’t known for his rushing ability, he is definitely capable in that area. Dak only had one touchdown on the ground this season but in five career playoff games, he has four rushing touchdowns. The Cowboys clearly don’t want him to get hurt rushing the ball in the regular season, but in the playoffs, it’s a different story. Prescott should run the ball a lot in this contest as he tries to evade the prolific Niner’s pass rush and that will give him a good chance to score. This is a long-shot bet but it’s worth a shot given Prescott’s playoff history.
