Leg 1 – LA Chargers vs. LA Rams
This battle for L.A. is an interesting non-conference matchup between the 2-0 Rams and the 1-1 Chargers. The Rams have gotten off to a great start and are loaded and their defense ranks first in the NFL only all 6.5 points per game and their offense ranks fifth in points per game.
The Chargers won their last game beating the Buffalo Bills 31-20 to even their record. The defense has been the issue on the season for the Bolts, but Phillip Rivers and the offense has looked good. Look for Rivers to have a big game facing a solid Rams’ secondary that has really not been tested yet.
These teams have not met since the 2014 season. While both of these teams share the same stadium in their move to L.A. last season the Chargers are 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 road games while the Rams are only 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 home games.
The Rams may get the win in this game, but Rivers will keep it close, which is why the Chargers are the pick to cover.

Leg 2 – San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The 49ers won their first game of the season in their last game beating the Detroit Lions 30-27. Their defense only ranks tied for 20th in the league in opponents’ points per game and that is not good hitting the road in this game to face the Chiefs, who lead the league averaging 40 ppg.
The Chiefs have been balanced on offense and 2nd year quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been great in his first two games passing for 582 yards with 10 touchdowns and he has not been picked off.
These teams have not met since the 2014 season. The 49ers are a solid 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games, but the Chiefs have covered the spread in six of their last seven games overall.
The Chiefs are for real and with the offensive weapons they have they will light up the scoreboard in this non-conference affair. Take the Chiefs to win and cover at home.

Leg 3 – New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions
The Patriots lost their last game 31-20 facing the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in a rematch of last season’s AFC title game. They faced a solid Jax defense in that game and in this game facing the Lions that is not the case.
The Lions have lost their first two games with new head coach Matt Patricia, who was the defensive coordinator for the Patriots for the last few years. The issue for the Lions has been a defense that ranks tied for 31st in the league giving up an average of 39 points per game.
Tom Brady and the Pats facing the Lions with a poor defense? Yeah, this one is an easy pick taking the Over.
