NFL Week 15 best picks and top prop bets | Sunday, December 18

NFL football tips

Week 15 of the NFL is upon us and we have 11 games this Sunday. There are only four weeks left and while the top teams are clear, there are still a bunch of playoff spots up for grabs. This is a massive week for many teams and when these games are over, some playoff hopefuls will be on the outside looking in. Here are our best picks for Week 15.

New York Jets vs Detroit Lions

This is an intriguing game between two playoff hopefuls. The 7-6 New York Jets will host the 6-7 Detroit Lions in what can be considered a must-win game for both teams. Also, these teams win games in completely different ways and this matchup is going to come down to the Jets’ defense and the Lions’ offense. The Lions have been great offensively this year and recently, they have scored over 30 points in four of five games. That being said, the Jets have given up 20 or fewer points in four of their past five games. Because of this dichotomy, we are going to side with the home team and take the points, even if it’s only 1.5. This game could truly go either way and we are going to take the home underdogs in this spot.

New York Jets +1.5

Chicago Bears vs Philadelphia Eagles

In this battle between the 12-1 Philadelphia Eagles and the 3-10 Chicago Bears, we are siding with the clearly inferior Bears. While the Bears are a bad team, they have an electric QB and have been keeping games close. QB Justin Fields has been a revelation in recent weeks for the Bears and while it hasn’t amounted to wins, he has raised the profile of this team. Also, while the Eagles are great and undefeated on the road this season, they are only 2-4 against the spread away from home. The Eagles are definitely the better team but Justin Fields and the Bears should be able to keep this game closer than the books project.

Well, because we think the Bears will play this game close due to Justin Fields, it only makes sense to bet on him to score. Fields has been great using his legs and he has seven rushing touchdowns in his past six games. While the Eagles have a great defense, Fields has shredded good defenses using his legs and he has truly established himself as one of the NFL’s elite playmakers. Fields is capable of taking any carry to the house and he leads the NFL with three 50-plus yard touchdown carries. He is truly raising the profile of the Bears by himself and at +135, it’s a great value bet.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Dallas Cowboys

Once again, we are taking an inferior team to cover against a good playoff team. The Jags are 5-8 and have been inconsistent this season but they have looked good in recent weeks. On the other side of the field is the 10-3 Cowboys who have used a fierce rushing attack to win games. While the Jags aren’t great against the run, we think they will slow down Dallas enough to keep this game close. While the Cowboys have been great defensively all season, Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence has been on fire in recent weeks and he looks every bit the QB he was expected to be coming into the league. We are counting on Lawrence to continue dominating opposing defenses and although this is a tough task, we believe the Jags are going to keep this close and play within the number all game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Cincinnati Bengals

While the Bengals are away in this battle between two playoff teams, we still like them to win with ease. This season, the Bengals are 10-3 against the spread and have been consistently undervalued by books all season. Also, the Bucs are 3-9-1 against the spread and it feels like it’s time to give up on them. While the Bucs have Tom Brady who can still turn it around, the clock is ticking on their season and while they can make the playoffs, they are only 6-7 and don’t look like a true contender. The Bengals, on the other hand, have won five in a row and look like they are going to make another Super Bowl run. This is going to be a tough game but we think the Bengals will continue rolling with a huge road win.

Cincinnati Bengals -3.5

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants

In the Sunday Night game this week, the 7-5-1 Washington Commanders will host the 7-5-1 New York Giants. These teams actually played two weeks ago and sure enough, it ended in a tie. One of the key players in that game was Brian Robinson, the Commanders’ running back. He was able to rattle off 111 total yards and while he didn’t get in the endzone, he should in this contest. The Giants have been abysmal in recent weeks against opposing running backs and will struggle with Robinson here. The Commanders should use him all game and we expect Robinson to score in this spot. He projects to be the main redzone weapon for Washington and the rookie running back should score for the third time in four weeks.
