NFL week 16 best bets & betting preview | December 25 – 26, 2022

NFL football tips

After 11 NFL games will take place on Saturday, we have four more matchups over Sunday and Monday. Teams like the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will all be in action and considering the playoff picture, these are huge games. Here are our best picks for Christmas Day and Monday Night Football.

Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers betting preview

A.J. Dillon is one of the Packers’ running backs and recently, he has been earning a bigger role. While he splits time with another Green Bay back Aaron Jones, Dillon has been getting more and more work in past games and he is delivering. Against an iffy Dolphins defense, both of these running backs should have a big game. However, Jones’ anytime TD odds are shorter so we are taking Dillon. The Boston College product has four touchdowns in his past three games and he is in line to find the endzone in this spot. Take Dillon to score at +115 as the Packers will try to use their run game to defeat a strong but beatable Dolphins squad.

Los Angeles Rams vs Denver Broncos

This game is going to be pretty awful. The 4-10 Los Angeles Rams will host the 4-10 Denver Broncos in a battle that has zero playoff implications. That being said, there is value on the Rams. The Broncos have no business being away favorites and while they have a great defense, they cannot move the ball offensively. This game may be won by the team that scores 10 points first. And at home, we think the Rams can do that. While QB Baker Mayfield is not a good signal caller, he has given this Rams team a spark and he should do enough to lead the Rams to a victory in this spot. You may not want to watch this Christmas Day battle but take the underdog in a game where points should be very hard to come by.

Arizona Cardinals vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Arizona Cardinals stink but this is simply a pick against Tampa Bay. Tampa have only covered one time since week two and that game was played in Germany. The Bucs are being overrated week in and week out and while we have fallen for them a couple of times, this is where it ends. Even though they have Tom Brady, they are not a good team. While Arizona have an awful defense and are on their third string QB, the Bucs have not blown a team out all season and haven’t won by more than a touchdown since September. They just cannot be trusted and while they may limp into the playoffs, the 6-8 Bucs are not a good team. Take the Cardinals and although it feels gross, fade Tom Brady and this emotionless Tampa Bay team.

Indianapolis Colts vs Los Angeles Chargers

After a slow start to the season, the Chargers have finally turned the corner as they get some key players back from injury. Los Angeles are 8-6 and firmly entrenched in a playoff spot as they have won three of their past four games. They should win another one here. The Chargers should be able to throw all over a Colts team coming off the most devastating loss in NFL history. The Colts are just one week removed from blowing a 33-0 lead and we don’t see how they bounce back from that. Take the Chargers to beat a demotivated Colts team on Monday Night and further stake their claim as a Super Bowl contender.

Los Angeles Chargers -4.5
