NFL Week 18 best picks and top prop bets | Sunday, January 8

NFL football tips

The NFL’s final set of regular season games is upon us and while it’s sad that we are at the end of another season, this year’s playoffs promise to be very entertaining. This Week 18 slate is going to be a mish mash of unmotivated teams and teams fighting for their playoff lives. While that can create some unpredictable situations, we have found our best picks from the 14-game Sunday slate. Here they are.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens

This is going to be a great game and it has vast playoff ramifications. The winner of this game will win the AFC East and that will provide motivation for both teams. The Ravens are kind of limping into this game and while it appears their star QB, Lamar Jackson, will miss this game, they can still cover. While the Bengals have won seven games in a row, they have struggled against their divisional opponents this season and the familiarity of the Ravens may give them fits. It is unlikely that the Ravens win this game due to their injuries, but they should be able to keep it close and they will be within striking distance throughout the duration of this game.

Mark Andrews is one of the best tight ends in the NFL but is in the midst of a down season. As a result, he only has five touchdowns this season after putting up nine last year. That all being said, these touchdown odds are far too long. Even though the Ravens have struggled in recent games, they should be able to move the ball on a mediocre defense and use Andrews as a downfield threat. It’s going to be a close game and Andrews will be paramount to the Ravens’ offensive success. Take him to score at +370 with betting sites in what is a great longshot bet.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On the surface, this line makes no sense. The Bucs are 8-8 and the Falcons are 6-10. That all being said, it appears like the Bucs will rest their starters as they have already clinched a playoff spot and have no way of moving up their seeding. While the Falcons don’t really have anything to play for, their coach has come out and said they won’t be resting anyone so they should be at full power for this game. Of course, that’s not a very good team but they should be good enough to beat the Tampa backups and cover the number in the process.

Atlanta Falcons -4.5

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets

If the Dolphins win this game and get some help from other teams in different games, they actually have a chance to sneak into the playoffs. While they are on their third string QB due to injury, they should still be able to beat a struggling Jets team. As a result, Tyreek Hill should have a big day. The diminutive wide receiver is one of the NFL’s best and he is in the midst of a fantastic season. While he only has eight touchdowns, he is a threat to score on any play and this once elite Jets defense will be powerless to stop him. Take Tyreek to score at +140 as he fights for his team’s playoff life.

Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have clinched the playoffs and it looks like they will be resting all their starters. While the 4-12 Denver Broncos are a bad team, they should be able to handle Los Angeles in this spot. LA project to sit all their key players and the Broncos will be looking to end a disastrous season on a high note in front of their home fans. Denver has fired their coach and in many ways, this is an audition for their interim head coach, Jerry Rosburg. Expect him to give it his all and dismantle the Chargers’ backups in a meaningless Week 18 battle.

Denver Broncos -3

Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams

This is yet another meaningless game when it comes to the standings but don’t tell the players that. All week, the Rams players have been talking up their disdain for the Seahawks organization and they should be motivated to beat them in the last game of the season. While motivation is a risky thing to bet on, this game really doesn’t matter and that should be the deciding factor. Neither team is happy with how the season played out but we expect the Rams to play very inspired and play Seattle close in their last game of the season.

Los Angeles Rams +6

Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions

Well, this is a game that really matters and the winner of this should clinch a playoff berth. As a result, we expect this to be a great Sunday Night game and both teams will treat it like a playoff game. And that means the Lions’ offense should be firing on all cylinders, as they have all season. In turn, Jamaal Williams has racked up 15 touchdowns and he is in line to add to that tally here. Williams has had a nose for the endzone all season and gets to play the Packers’ bottom five ranked rushing defense. Take Williams to score at -110 and watch him end his remarkable season on a high note.
