NFL wide receiver top six prop bets & best odds – 22/23 season

This NFL offseason has featured a lot of quarterbacks and wide receivers changing teams. Whenever that happens, the whole league gets shuffled around and it becomes more unpredictable. However, because of that unpredictability, sports books have less basis for their lines and we can find value in some prop bets. Let’s look at our favorite wide receiver prop bets for this upcoming season.

Jaylen Waddle Under 925.5 yards

Jaylen Waddle is a very talented wide receiver who exploded last season, his first year in the NFL. He was essentially the only reliable target for his QB, Tua Tagovailoa, and Waddle was able to put up 1,015 yards. While we think Waddle is a great receiver and someone who will develop into an elite option, the Dolphins made some moves to bolster their WR core and give Tua more targets. Tyreek Hill will likely become Tua’s first option and that will give less opportunities to Waddle. While Waddle can still be a great player, Tua simply isn’t good enough to support two elite options and as a result, Waddle’s stats should falter in this upcoming season.

Marquise Brown Over 875.5 yards

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is entering his fourth year in the NFL and he has improved in each season to this point. He had 1,008 yards last year for the Baltimore Ravens but was surprisingly traded to the Arizona Cardinals during the NFL Draft. He will be reunited with college teammate Kyler Murray, the Cards QB, and should immediately make a big impact. Right now, Arizona’s best WR, DeAndre Hopkins is suspended for the first six games and that means Brown will have to shoulder more of the burden. He should be peppered with targets throughout the season and Brown has proven he has the talent to be an elite wide receiver. Take advantage of the sports books’ uncertainty when it comes to Brown’s new team and take the over on his yardage totals.

Michael Pittman Jr. Over 1,025 yards

Michael Pittman Jr. broke out last year to the tune of 1,082 yards. He still projects to be the Colts’ number one target and now, he should have a QB upgrade. Indianapolis traded for Matt Ryan in order to move on from Carson Wentz and that should benefit Pittman in a big way. Pittman had a big season last year and it was with an inaccurate QB. Ryan may be aging, but he is still far better than Wentz and Matt Ryan also has a propensity to hyper target one guy. In Atlanta, where Ryan was before, it was Julio Jones. In Indy, we are projecting that guy to be Pittman and he should smash this season, easily hitting the over on his yardage totals in the process.

Skyy Moore Over 677.5 yards

Skyy Moore was a second round pick in the most recent NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and he projects to be a huge part of replacing Tyreek Hill. While the Chiefs brought in a lot of receivers, Hill’s absence opens up a lot of targets and with Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball, multiple players can have big seasons. Moore is a great route runner and should be able to get open frequently. The Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, is the best TE in the NFL and he demands a lot of attention. That will give Moore plenty of room to operate and he should be open a lot of the time. We trust Mahomes to get him the ball in these cases and Moore’s line is far too low right now. Take the over and watch the rookie make a name for himself.

Tyler Lockett Under 825.5 yards

Lockett is a veteran wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks who would have hit this over in each of the past four seasons. However, the Seahawks traded QB Russell Wilson to the Broncos and now will have either Drew Lock or Geno Smith starting for them. That is not ideal for Lockett. Lockett is a big play receiver and neither of the current quarterbacks will be able to find Lockett like Russ did. Also, the Seahawks also have an elite receiver in D.K. Metcalf and it will be hard for their QB’s to support two receivers. Unfortunately, that spells trouble for Lockett and he should have a down season with his new signal callers.

Jakobi Meyers Over 750.5 yards

Jakobi Meyers projects to be the Patriots best receiver and he should be in for a big season. With rookie QB Mac Jones at the helm last season, Meyers put up 866 yards and both of them should improve this coming season. Meyers was clearly Jones’ favorite target last year and as both of them get more comfortable with each other, this over should hit with ease. Meyers is an expert at getting open over the middle of the field and it is Jones’ tendency to take the easy throws. Mac Jones is a very accurate QB and his skillset lines up perfectly with Meyers’. Take the over as Meyers should become a staple of the Patriots’ offense in his fourth NFL season.
