Chicago Blackhawks @ Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay is the biggest favorite of the day and will have a goaltending advantage over Chicago despite playing again on Saturday. Brian Elliott has the exact same goals allowed per game average this season as starting netminder Andrei Vasilevsky. He also has a .916 save percentage, which is better than any goaltender on Chicago’s roster.

Tampa is also 20-6-4 at home, and the Blackhawks are 13-16-5 on the road. Chicago will also be playing its second game in as many days. Tampa is riding a three-game winning streak. Expect that streak to be extended to four on Friday. Take Tampa Bay on the moneyline and consider taking the Lightning to win by two or more at -120. Nashville Predators @ Buffalo Sabres

The Predators are better than the Sabres all over the ice. They have the goaltending advantage, the defensive advantage, the offensive advantage, and the advantage on special teams. But Buffalo has been competitive over its last 10 games (6-1-3), scoring more and allowing less than three goals per game.

The Predators have posted a 6-4 record over their last 10 games, allowing 3.5 goals per game. Their offense has outperformed their season average in that stretch, however. And Nashville needs this game to maintain and/or improve its playoff position. The Predators only trail St. Louis by a point in the Central Division and could avoid being a Wild Card team.

Expect Nashville to get the road win. Take the Predators on the moneyline and consider taking them to win by two or more. Parlaying Nashville with Tampa Bay on the moneyline pays -102, and a parlay against the spread pays +330.

Vegas Golden Knights @ Seattle Kraken

Vegas also needs this game over the expansion Kraken to maintain its position for the final playoff spot in the NHL Western Conference. This is the second game Vegas will play in Seattle over three days, having won 3-0 on Wednesday. Two teams playing back-to-back games gives the better of the two teams a firm advantage. Vegas is that team, so take them on the moneyline and to win by two or more at +150. A moneyline trifecta featuring Vegas, Nashville, and Tampa pays +215, but a parlay bet against the spread featuring all three teams pays +977.

New York Islanders @ New York Rangers

The Islanders will be playing their second game in as many days, and the Rangers are on a four-game winning streak. The Rangers are also excellent at home (22-6-3), and the Islanders are 12-14-5 on the road. While the Islanders won’t be far away from home, they will have tired legs. That could result in the Islanders taking more penalties and putting the Rangers’ awesome power play on the ice (27.1 scoring percentage on the power play).

The Rangers also have the goaltending advantage, albeit barely. Both Islanders netminders have been excellent this season, but Igor Shesterkin has been the best goaltender in the game. The Rangers have been better offensively and defensively at full strength. Only the Islanders’ penalty kill has been better than the Rangers’ this season, so take the Rangers on the moneyline and consider taking them to win by two or more.
